Sorry. May I ask about the original purpose of the drum show? My 3 guesses: To celebrate harvest? Pray for good weather and good luck? To drive away evil spirits?

Drums are often played at the festival. Most of Japan used to be rice paddy so many festivals are harvest festivals. And sometimes musics are dedicated to Gods.
