A recent viral video is causing a stir among Indians. What is this video? And why is it affecting only Indians? Let’s find out.
First, look at this picture. Many of you must have used or at least seen these slippers in your life. They are very common in India and are known for their comfortable fit, long-lasting nature, and cheap price.
But what if I tell you that these slippers, which typically cost around ₹150-200 in India, are being sold for around 4,600 Riyal in Saudi Arabia, approximately ₹1,02,240?
This is what the viral reel I was talking about is!
An undated video shared by the Instagram handle “kuwaitinside” shows pairs of these Indian Hawai slippers displayed in a glass box in different vibrant colors like red, yellow, blue, and green with the price tag showing 4,590 Riyals in a store. A store employee can be seen taking the blue pair out of the glass case and showing it to the person recording the video.
The video was captioned as “Trendy Sandals sell for 4,500 Riyals in Saudi Arabia.”
Indians were shocked to see the video, especially the price of the slippers.
The video received thousands of comments mixed with disbelief, amusement, and jokes.
Many mentioned the practicality of these slippers in daily life. Others joked, "It’s not for wearing guys.. it’s for the mothers who are really annoyed with their sons’ behavior. 😂"
