This was a very disrespectful interview by both Max and Stephen A. Smith.... You don't have a great Hall of Fame player with all of those accomplishments and intelligence while asking him to analyze basketball... then you fight, argue, and debate him and don't allow him to speak but every little thing he points out with facts, you argue?.... These two (Max & Stephen A.) are inappropriate when it comes to respecting a guest of this status.

What these analytics idiots never mention is that missed shots lead to def.rebounds, which against the most teams in the league leads to fast breaks. So if 4 threes give you 12pts, and 6 2pointers give you 12 points also, shooting only 3s gives the opposing teams up to 20 fast break opportunities per 100 posessions. And long shots result in long rebounds, so it's easier to run a fast break if you're closer to the opponents basket when you grab a defensive rebound. When you add predictability that Isiah talked about, and that it takes more out of your legs when you shoot long jumpers, you get a perfectly reasonable explanation why the Rockets missed 27 straight 3s in game 7, and why it's ultimately easier to guard them in a best-of-7 series.

An even more impressive stat is that MJ scored 3,047 points and while only making 12 three-point shots. 2% of Jordan's points that season came from three point range compared to James Harden 2,818 points while making 378 three pointers which made up 40% of hardens points. To put that into perspective Harden Attempted 1,028 three pointers compared to Jordan's 62 three point attempts. That's insane to think that Jordan scored 229 more points that Harden while taking 966 less three pointers. MJ was a fucking monster on court in a big man era.

@ around 15:00 ish let me pause to chime in real quick.. that style of play the nba is currently using is trickling down through the various levels.. there is no more nuance in Basketball games anymore.. people watch these summer leagues .. all they are doing is lil fast breaks, a flashy move, one pass for a dunk, lay up, or shot.. and people think its functional Basketball.. highschool players play under the whistle games like its one big john wall youtube highlight video.. get the rebound, go full court, one or two moves and a pass or a quick score.. they completely block out any other aspect of basketball.. shits hella sloppy and what not.

Judah bro, Isiah didn't beat Magic out brother, they both were all NBA 1st team from 1983-84 to 1985-86. It's like how we'll see LeBron & KD or Malone & Barkley both get all NBA 1st team. It can be 2 PGs just like 2 PFs. Actually Larry Bird an Bernard King was apart of 2 all NBA 1st teams with Magic & Isiah, Dominique Wilkins & Larry Bird was on the other. It would make sense to do it PG SG SF PF C but as long as it's 2 guards they can both be PG or SG it doesn't matter same with both forward positions.
