Wow, beauty! I'm a little partial to buckskins to start with, and she's better built than a lot of the AQHA horses I recently watched go through the ring. I can't help but be bias because she reminds me so much of an all around ranch horse I got to ride as a young teen. What an incredible find. She's a Kiger Mustang which means she came from Southeastern Oregon down around Jordan Valley/Steens Mountain. So that brings me to ask WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU GOT HER? Tell your friend that they are being recognized as a separate breed of horses & have their own registry.

I am not a fan of your method using a rope, in a small square pen and there is no release of pressure on her. Drag lines are nasty as well. Why not use the round pen join up method of Monty Roberts?

He is successfully taking wild horses and making them into willing partners thus ensuring they won't end up in the kill pen. He turns out confident, soft & knowledgeable horses. Try observing & learning instead of comparing & judging.
