One of my favorite games of all time! The demo on the 3DS blew me away as a 12 year old, later I got it with the circle pad pro! Amazing game

I remember being quite impressed with the graphics on 3DS all those years ago I finally got a copy of the game a couple of years ago or so and it also had the spelling mistake on the spine. Aside from that I had a good time though I keep forgetting that I played it.

I played this game everyday on my 3DS. I beat every level perfectly on every difficulty. This game was what got me into horror games. The jump scares and intensity was unlike anything I ever experienced. When I got a bit older I went back and played every resident evil game and started playing other games in the genre and now I have an addiction to games that are very difficult.

I still think this game on 3DS is something of a programming miracle/masterpiece. It looks SO good and is arguably the best-looking realistic game on the console. Every time I look at it, it makes me a bit depressed about how RE Revelations 2 on the PS Vita was not equally top-tier.

Surely the 3DS version isn’t in 240p resolution, maybe with the 3D turned off but I swear the second you turn it on it’s almost as sharp as the 360.

Well the video also got the resolution of the Switch version wrong too. Its 1080p when it docked mode. But this video claims its max res is 720p

Just imagine what the Njntendo 3DS pro would have been like for handheld players like myself. It's sad that we will likely not be able to see just how far the handheld consoles could have gone, but just imagine the 3Ds standing off against home modern-day much more powerful consoles.

@160sharp I don't think that was its limit at all. As a matter of fact, the switch is not really a handheld. It has a gimmick that allows it to be portable, but nintendo explored this option after the wiipad and mostly out of fear of mobile gaming taking over the hanheld industry. So, in reality, was there more to explore in the handheld and 3d field? Absolutely, but nintendo decided to go another direction instead.

@160sharp Let's go back to basics as it seems you're not understanding. First of all, no one is arguing that the 3ds reached its peak. What was being suggested is that a new generation of Nintendo handhelds could have offered much more, with a name like "3ds pro" or whatever other name Nintendo would have chosen. The switch is not a hanheld console. It is a home-console that has a gimmick or feature that allows portable gaming. Your last comment on "with that reasoning the PS Vita and PSP are not hanhelds" is absurd. The Sony line had 3 popular hanheld consoles, PSP, PSP GO, and then the PS Vita. They were truly or purely handheld consoles, just like the DS lines all the way to the 3DS. The switch is a home console. Again, that final comment of yours makes no sense if based on what I said.

If they were going to point out that the footage of the Switch version was running in handeld mode, then the 720p res would've made sense. But they didn't clarify that in the video at all.

Observe that the 3DS version is inferior to the other hardware in the quality of the geometry, but much of the lighting is of similar quality to the other hardware! It should be emphasized that this is being run on the original Old 3DS, not the New 3DS. It was truly shocking to be able to play games of this quality on a portable console released in 2011. Finally, I am very saddened by the fact that few games were released that took full advantage of the 3DS GPU.

Barely a difference between the PS4 and Xbox 360. Not surprising, as some "remasters" were pretty much phoned in. Really only appears to be improvement in fidelity as the 360 was running 720p (it only rarely ran 1080), and PS4 at 1080p. Any edge that the PS4 has over the 360 in textures or lighting appears looks more like a fidelity boost. Frame rate is probably the biggest difference. So PC & PS4 are basically just 1080p 60 FPS ports.

The switch's handheld resolution is 720p so the game's default resolution is the same, this applies to every game on Nintendo switch. The switch is also underpriced considering the CPU is underclocked to prevent overheating. Fun fact: the switch's CPU runs 10x less than it's default clock speed in handheld mode, and 3x less in docked. (because games are rendered in higher resolution in docked, the added power ceases to matter).
