what does "Can't see the forest for the trees" mean? only thing i didnt understand
@humanwritescode Жыл бұрын
It means that you are too focused on the details so you don't see the bigger picture. It's like being unable to see a forest because you're too focused on all the individual trees. In Smiffy's case, he was so focused on all the different systems and requirements and tools and processes of the modpack that he couldn't see what the essential gameplay loop was.

Personally I had trouble with Vault Hunters (7 specifically) when I played because I was solo. Vault completion was basically impossible for monoliths, and QoL mods like pouches was locked behind a pretty substantial time gate because I had no idea how to play. Grinding outside of the vaults also wasn't very fun. Watching it has been great though!

You should make an option for the server admin/owner so that whenever someone starts a Vault the timer doesn't start until a player leaves the portal room. This would just let people give the Vault a chance to load a bit and not cause the players to experience heaps of lag...

I like the discussions about game design. Iskall is learning about how to make an accessible game, essentially, even within something as inaccessible as a Minecraft Modpack. The only reason I could get into Vault Hunters myself is because I watched Duncan and the others play it and Barry explaining it to everyone else. It is awfully obtuse otherwise and the information available to explain the systems is sparse and incomplete. I think the quest system, as he's described it, is what the game needs for a lot more people to be able to play it.

my "issue" lets say... with vault hunters is that many things seem to either last so long there's no point having durability with it or it just lasts too little of time. when i earn my rewards i just want to keep them and not know "well in X vaults this is just going to break... why would i care to be excited about this loot piece? it's just a temporary buff basically"
@Sinsults Жыл бұрын
Sounds more like you just need to stop thinking of gear as loot and think of it as gear. Not to mention repair cores are fairly cheap and I've never had a problem with gear breaking before I could replace it with something better.
@AtomixKingg Жыл бұрын
@@Sinsults I guess the sentiment of "I've never had a problem with gear breaking before I could replace it with something better" is the other part of what Richard mentioned, where it lasts long enough to be replaced, it essentially didn't have a durability to begin with. I find when playing I tend to ignore the durability of things until they're about to break.

@HonestAuntyElle Жыл бұрын
Iskalls an OG in the Minecraft community. It's hard enough speaking English when it's not your native tongue, let alone be entertaining AND learn who is who quickly. The way he said it is kinda rude, but as someone who has created modpacks before, it's really true that modded Minecraft players have no patience for deep progression. It's usually because there's no guide, and that deep crafting recipes in some packs have left them almost allergic to deep progression as it's simply not fun. But deep progression isn't the same thing as deep crafting trees.
