When philosophy is put into practice via religion it leads to spiritual transformation. Modes are the director of energy not the source. Energy and actions are intrinsic to the soul.

One cannot be situated without doing karma as action and energy are intrinsic to the soul. But the direction of the action is determined by the modes.

Without purification of heart, renunciation is simply disturbance. Without Brahman realization there is no use of Sanyasa.

Thank you Prabhuji, Krishna says to Arjuna that Karma-yoga is better for you than Jnana yoga. Since Arjuna was concerned about the bondage on account of karma, Krishna says when you do your work as a sacrifice to Vishnu, there is no bondage.

Krishna tells Arjuna not to give up working and try to practice inactivity & jnana yoga because it will not lead to purification and freedom from bondage, by inactivity he will cheat himself and cause social disruption and also he will have difficulty maintaining himself. Working with detachment, niskama karma yoga already includes the detachment included in jnana yoga.

Yajna has a form and a principle. Ppl generally focus on form. Principle - sacrifice. Some ppl might say, yajna, simply putting grain and ghee in fire - what a waste. Athrava veda - highest devata is visnu and lowest (most accessible) is agni. So other devatas can be accessed by agni deva. How? Complex universal government. E.g. credit card - you pay 50K for getting it. For ignorant, they can say what a waste. No, it is worth it.

Karma Yoga is better for Arjuna as he is not qualified for JY 3 reasons why KY is preferable to JY Religion without Philosophy is Fanaticism Philosophy with Religion is mental speculation. Science (experimental) has Theory and experiment Spirituality(higher dimentional and transformational science(experiencial)) has philosophy and Religion When we practice the process of chanting in the laboratory of heart then we experience the transformation. 3 Reasons KY > JY 1. JY is Unnatural and is not purifying. 2. Disrupt social order (hypocrite) 3. Cannot maintain ones body. One may put 50k in bank and get credit card, only intelligent will understand the worth of that Credit card. Similarly anything(aahuti) offered in Yagna goes to demigods and then go to Vishnu. Purpose of Varnashram is to satisfy Vishnu and one will not be bound.
