As a child, she lived in the holy land of Vrindavan and studied the art and practice of Kirtan. She learned to sing and to play the harmonium, fully absorbing herself in the culture and music of Bhakti. Upon her return to the West, she was encouraged at the age of 14 to record her first Kirtan album aptly entitled Nava Yauvanam, a description of the Divine, meaning fountain of youth.

The mantra addresses the supreme power invoking its blessings on the chanter.

I wish every kirtan had small talk like this beginning, it is so beautiful. Iam in my first year of krishna conciousness and have recently added celibacy as i dont have a girldfriend. Chanting is difficult with depression, but now iam on 10 minutes everyother day or so. Its not a routine yet, but iam striving for it to become a sure routine.
