@indodesi Most of the educated people are good. But some are absolutely not. When it comes to Kashmir everyone is alike, and they all talk against India. Since their approach to Kashmir issue is religious that's why we (most of the people belonging to minorities) try not to get involved in the Kashmir thing. Most of the times these are just the politicians who want to gain some fame, but some times the people want them to speak against India. And yes discrimination does exist in Pakistan. But there are many people who are great, who truely care about minorities. At the end of the day, there are all sorts of people in my country, good and bad, all exist at the same time and at the same place.

Dear Book Buddy The discussion was very informative and I am in agreement with Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy about all his historical findings, scientific knowledge, and approach to bring science oriented culture in our society. One thing on which I cannot agree with him that humans tended to evolve from monkeys because all Divine books and especially Quran revealed that Adam and his wife were created by God and sent towards earth with a purpose. There are other metaphysical things that are superior to today's physical science that Quran revealed: 1- Ashab e Kahaf who took deep sleep for 300 years in a cave without any physical changes on their bodies. 2- Meeting of Hazrat Musa with Hazrat Khizar that tells us about Takveeni Ilm. 3-Throne of Queen of (Sheba) Bilqis that was teleported by a man in second from Yemen in front of King Solomon. 4- Propher Muhammad traveled to heavens (Shab e Miraj) and when he came back to earth the TIME was stationary. So, science still has to find causes for above mentioned happenings revealed in Quran.

I am different person than the given name, and not speaking on behalf of name given on this portsl, this is first time i had a chance to listen to this discussion and about professor Hoodbohy, Very much impressed by the comparer's boldness and answers given by the author of the book, I was very much impressed by the depth of his knowledge and sincerity of thoughts in bringing the lament muslim nation up, I am an educationist, having PhD, in Science and Education and biosciences. Each word of professor is worth million dollars, I am from the same school of thought. Due to religious degenerative, process, and unconcerened intilectuals, and fear created by the illitrates named as scholars are responsible for the fall. I coult see how difficult it was for the professor to talk about some of the most difficult topics of religion. Creativity was destroyed by creating fear in the mind of masses, aiming at keeping the power with them in the name of religion.Philosophers and thinkers were stoped, for moving forward in the fileld of science and technolgy. What you can expect from the minister of science and technolgy, who, most probably doesnot have a degree or education in science.I generally say that muslim nations creativity has been destroyed by the metalic, sqeezing helmit of religion, which has turned them to psychotic people, and canot come out of this circle. Nothing wrong in having both religious belief and still have a rationalistic mind. Problem with Islamic doctrine and followers is that they mix blind religious belief in everything be it science or be it politics or be it society rather than keeping religion only for having moral values of life Just read the history of Islamic world until 10th century and that was the golden period of scholar of Islamic world during which they translated and reworked on science, maths, astronomy from Sankrit of India. With time, they lost in touch with the scientific temper. Sad, yet a true story.

Hello Sir I'm also a Physics student at University of the Punjab Lahore. I'm really glad watching this kind of thought which Allah say in Holly Quran to think about. Allah gives examples of mountains, bird's flights, Sea and rivers , the formation and initial creation of human beings...then fire...then clouds and the airs which carry them and many more which are hidden. We Muslims should research and think about these things with our own personal power of our eyes and knowledge.its only possible when we will welcome such thoughts like Dr hood bhoy. Wow! Such an Aw-inspiring vedio... I have never listened Dr. Pervez as deep as ever and there was nothing to disagree him but before this vedio I had some doubts about Dr pervez. I highly recommend this vedio to be watched by everyone.... Iam religious kind of girl but I do believe on science. Islam doesn't restrict us to work on it and think about it. Even the whole science is hidden in Quran. We have to explore it. And miracles are not just stories. I have never missed any of ur vedio and listen every bit of ur conversation... You are totally wrong! Islam restricts Muslims to study science & work on it. Quran says " playing with numbers is the work of iblis " many Muslim scientists were killed when science was at the peak during the Golden Era of Islam, because caliphate perceived they're doing something which is prohibited in Islam. They were thinking rationally & logically, they were creating & designing prototype of modern inventions, they were thinking beyond the boundary of Islam.
