Muslims really did copy the Jews in 7 areas!
Muslims have always claimed that the 'Masjid al-Haram', their most holy
site, also known as the Kaaba, coupled with its traditions, was always
situated in Mecca, since at least the time of Abraham (i.e. 1900 BC).
But is that correct? Have all the traditions surrounding the Hajj to
Mecca been around for thousands of years? We think not.
Earlier, Paul from London introduced what he calls the 'Jerusalem
Thesis', which suggests that Islam's holiest site is nothing more than a
poor copy of what was much earlier, and much further north, in the city
of Jerusalem.
Mel, from Sneaker's Corner continues Paul's thesis by introducing yet
another 7 well-known areas which are practiced by Muslims today during
their pilgrimage, yet are nothing more than borrowed practices from the
Bible, and from the Jews themselves, and are all situated in Jerusalem.
They include:
1) The mountains in Jerusalem known as Moriah (the Temple Mount), and
Scopus (directly across from it with the Kidron valley running in
between). These have now become the mountains Marwa and Safa in Mecca,
but are nothing more than 15-20 foot high boulders.
2) The cubed 'holy of holies' in the Temple, has now been replaced in
Mecca as the 'cuboid' Kaaba.
3) The 3 Hagg pilgrimage festivals which took place in Jerusalem are now
the Hajj pilgrimage which are all centered in Mecca.
4) The temple in Jerusalem, referred to as the 'house of god', has now
been replaced by the 'Masjid al Haram', which is the Kaaba.
5) The rest-stop named Bakka used by pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem
is still Bakka in Surah 3:96, but is confused by Muslims today for
Mecca.
6) The shaved heads, and the sackcloth, both practiced by the Jewish
pilgrims in Jerusalem, now include the Islamic white cloth worn by all
Muslims devotees, and known as 'Ihram' in Arabic.
7) The circumambulation 7 times around the temple, walking in a
anticlockwise directions, are done exactly the same today by Muslims as
they circumambulate around the Kaaba.
Thus, nothing is historically correct or even new in Islam, a religion
which plagiarizes and mimics what the Jews did hundreds and thousands of
years earlier, but still claims it had it first!

Not forgetting, that's where the olive trees grow, around the Mediterranean.
@briangreen7797
@briangreen7797 2 жыл бұрын
@Zainab Rokadia Hello Zainab, I believe that Olive trees are mentioned in Koran in the descriptive text which describes the countryside where Mohammed lived and the people he met up with; I may be completely wrong and I stand to be corrected, but I understand the place where Mohammed lived was Mecca. Olive trees don't naturally grow and have never grown anywhere near Mecca, certainly in Mohammed's life time. Olive trees grow around the Mediterranean hundreds of miles north of Mecca, which suggests that the 'Mecca' written in the Koran is much further north, and the people he met up with lived much further north, probably in the same area as the olive trees. Zainab, more important than olive trees, I believe that we are living in 'end times' now. I believe that the first seal, written in Revelation Chapter 6 verses 1 & 2 has been opened. Revelation was written in Greek. Look up the Greek for Crown and bow, white is significant. Also, later on [Revelation Chapter 18 verse 23] it says ".... For your merchants were great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery"; similarly look up the Greek for sorcery. You need to follow Jesus, who is GOD, The Son. GOD said three times in the Book of Isaiah 41:4, 44:6 48:12 that He is the First and the Last. Read Revelation Chapter 1 verse 17. Question: When did God die? Answer: Revelation Chapter 1 verse 18. Advice: Come home to Jesus, find an alive active church, you need to give your life to Jesus, He has paid the price for all your sin if you believe in Him. You need to get baptised into the name of God, The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit, who is The One and Only Triune GOD; and cut all relationships with other gods. Worship Almighty GOD and Him alone. Must go now. GOD Bless, see you in Heaven, Hopefully. Brian

Hi Jay and Mel! I just want you to know how much I enjoy your videos and the work that you do to establish the early history of Islam. I just wanted to comment here to point out a couple of things that you might not be aware of. First, counterclockwise circumambulation isn't just Jewish. As an Eastern Christian clergyman, I can tell you most assuredly that all Eastern Christian clergy circumambulate their altars (holy tables) in the course of their services, and it is always done counterclockwise. This is the case because the procession must be performed in such a way so that we turn to the right. As I am sure you are aware, in Biblical language, to turn to the left is to deliberately choose evil. Further, I feel that I should point out that the holy table in an Eastern Christian church, whether Chalcedonian, Monophysite or Nestorian, is shaped like a cube. Today, because of the prevalence of the metric system, altars in the Byzantine Rite are usually a meter cubed. Altars among the Syrians and Copts are similarly cubed, and the processions are invariably performed in the same direction. All of that being said, I wanted to express some misgivings that I have about the Jerusalem thesis. First of all, I would like to point out what you are, undoubtedly, already aware of, namely Dan Gibson's very compelling argument in Quranic Geography connecting Petra and its environs with Ad (Biblical Uz) and Thamud (the people after Ad, in other words Edom). Based on that argument, it seems far more likely that Petra was an established place of Nabataean/Arab cultus (an anti-Jerusalem so to speak). Religion, it seems to me, is intrinsically conservative. Innovation, much less revolution, are rare. There must have been an established pilgrimage destination for the Arabs, and, because of Byzantine religious policy, it could not have been Jerusalem. Perhaps the genesis of Abrahamic cultus at Petra arose out of denial of access on the part of the Byzantines to anyone who did not profess a modicum of doctrinal orthodoxy. It is, after all, unthinkable that the authorities of the Byzantine Empire would have permitted a bizarre East Syrian, Ebionite Arab sect to use the Holy City for some sort of proto-Hajj. The building project on Mt. Moriah in the time of Abdel Malik seems like, perhaps, an abortive attempt to co-opt the completely Christian (and largely Chalcedonian, at that period) sanctuary to the purposes of the Petran- Arabian cultus, once Arab Ebionites had attained the ascendancy in the Umayyad regime. The Marwanids are apparently from Merv in Iran (thus the name), which is precisely where one would look for Ebionites to have survived as late as the 7th century. Thus, it was not the case of replacing one pilgrimage site with another, but simply adding a new one (in addition to Masjid al-Haram, we now have Haram al-Sharif). Christians (which is what these people apparently were) are used to the idea of having multiple pilgrimage sites. Nor is it particularly surprising that the same rituals are associated with more than one site. Apparently, we know from the numismatic evidence that Mu'awiya had devotions to the Great-Martyr Saint Sergius (Risafe) and Saint John the Baptist (Damascus). It is likely that the martyria of these saints were common pilgrimage destinations for him and his family. In any case, thank you for all the food for thought.

The Church of the Seat of Mary (Latin: Ecclesia Kathismatis, from Greek: κάθισμα, romanized: kathisma, lit. 'seat'), Church of the Kathisma or Old Kathisma being the name mostly used in literature, was a 5th-century Byzantine church in the Holy Land, located between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. It was built on the alleged resting place of Mary on the road to Bethlehem mentioned in the Proto-Gospel of James. The church was built when Marian devotion first rose to great importance, following the First Council of Ephesus of 431. It is one of the earliest churches known to have been dedicated to the Theotokos (Mary the God-bearer) in the entire Byzantine Empire.

In reference to the issue of baldness, or shaving your head before going to the Temple, that was part of the Nazirite vow mentioned in the book of Numbers (6.1-21). It is probably also the reason Paul shaved his head before leaving Cenchrea in Acts 18, and is the reason he shaved his head in Acts 21. The Nazirite vote was to be completed by making an offering at the Temple in Jerusalem. As part of the Nazirite vow, you had to give up alcohol, or any fermented food, for the duration of your vow. Abstinence from alcohol in Islam could have come from this, as well.

Nazirites shaved their heads in the Outer Temple in Jerusalem when they came to make three sacrifices as they ended their time of abstinence from grapes and grape products and had let their hair grow. (See Numbers 6 v 1-21). When Jewish women get married, they circle around their bridegroom seven times anticlockwise, in commemoration of Joshua and Jericho (see www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/586014/jewish/A-Mans-Deepest-Secret.htm). It is clear, as an orthodox Jew myself, that many ideas that made their way into Islam came from Judaism. Eg not eating pork, a special form of animal slaughter akin to but not exactly the same as Jewish shechitah, 5 prayers a day - there are 5 prayers for Jews on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement when Jews normally wear white as well, as opposed to 3 prayers on normal days and 4 on Shabbat and Jewish holidays. Seems that Islam was kind of an amalgamation of various concepts - usually in an altered or variant form from Judaism, ideas from monophysite and post-Roman Christianity including the nascent Quranic texts, concepts of holiness from the site of the Jewish Temples (why the Dome of the Rock was plonked on top of the Holy of Holies), the Nabatean previously pagan city of Petra, all mixed together in one new Islamic pot under the Abbasids to retain power, create a new cohesive belief system in the recently conquered huge Arab empire and to get taxes to keep it going. (By the way the word chesed - kindness - is pronounced with a kh sound as in loch.)

Another possible Hebrew origin of the word "Kabba": I noticed this when I was reading the weekly Parshah, Balak, last week. In Numbers 25:8 "And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly". The Hebrew word for "the tent" here is "ha- Qubah" - "הקבה" - an odd word to use for tent, as the usual would be "ohel" or "mishkan". In the immediate surrounding passages, mishkan is the word repeatedly used for a person's tent. Mishkan and ohel also refer to the Tabernacle, the "tent-of-meeting" or "holy tabernacle", so presumably the word "qubah" or "qabbah" could also refer to the holy tabernacle. The reason I think this unusual word is used in this verse was to make a pun with the word for "her belly" in the latter part of the verse, "qabatah", which is the same root, "qabah" (the "tah" part of "qaba-tah" makes it into the female possessive" i.e. "her") Unkelos's translation of the word "qabah" is "qubatha", same root, but actually the hebrew is closer to the Arabic "qaba" than is the Aramaic. For "her belly" he uses a totally different word and loses the pun, but the meaning is clearer. Now that I think about it, "qabah" is a strange word to use for belly as well. I'm not a Hebrew expert, just a casual Jewish reader, so I'm just pointing out what I have personally noticed. If the word "qaba" is used elsewhere in the Bible for tent, I haven't noticed it. But the fact that it is there even once shows it could possibly be the root of the Arabic word. Whether the association with an an act of fornication with an idol-worshipping foreigner from Midian is significant I will let others decide.

On the subject of arks, there was a tradition in Egypt where on a God's special day of festivities worshipers took the idol on a circuit around the temple. It was like a parade. In modern times on Sunday after or before church the day when the shoppes were closed it was not uncommon for people to walk in a circuit around main street dressed in their finest clothes, tipping their hats at people they found to be respectable. I was in Marrakesh in the late 80's and while the people there were Muslim they had the same tradition. In Canada they called it Young Street. This walking in a circuit around the temple in parade is just natural to humans.

Then it's always been those who are scared of the real story and only fellowship or teach the cover story never truly advancing Christians understanding or learning. It is time and place to learn advanced doctrine but not enough take that step and they are left in the dark. They refuse to know all things or to know the adversary we are dealing with.. Yes, they are a bit confused about the relationship between Hebrew gimel and Arabic Jeem, but that is because they are all theologians rather than linguists. The actual relation is the same between P in Latin an F in English in the following words: _pater_ and _father,_ or _pes_ and _foot._ This relation in Semitic languages is that much stronger given the central place of triliteral roots in the Afroasiatic family. There are several roots which are clearly related but a Hebrew/Aramaic _gimel_ corresponds to an Arabig _jim_ (for example, the word for "camel" is transliterated _kamal_ in Hebrew but _jamal_ in Arabic). @Pfander Films, you should probably try the specialist word "cognate" to refer to the relation between Hebrew _gimel_ and Arabic _jim._

This is great research, but To be honest, why would it be "copying" Judaism be a bad thing if they believed they were descendents of Ishmael, and therefore also heirs to these traditions God gave? That makes more sense than adopting "pagan" practices. It would be showing their loyalty to the abrahamic religion by doing these things. Christians would wear sackcloth and ashes when they were repenting as a penance during the first centuries of christianity (something I advocate we should take up again), based on the same source from the Old Testament.

Since Arabic was not a written language by this time, its stands to reason that the Koran is a collection of the liturgies and teachings of Christianize Arabs, which was later compiled and redacted to fit the political and religious agenda of early Arab rulers in the 8th -10th century. Bekka in Lebanon was a place of worship since prehistoric times. Romans built a huge temple there. It took them centuries without finishing it. It is dedicated to Jupiter/Zeus. It looks almost like building the Vatican in the desert. I'm curious to see whether their sizes match. If it is a place of worship when you're going to Jerusalem, it would start making sense to build such a temple almost in nowhere land. It is not associated with a big city I heard of. In prehistorical times, people managed to move incredibly huge stones. In fact, the columns one can see on each picture of the site are the size of what the prehistoric people moved. It is bigger than Gobekli Tepe site, close to Sanhurfa. A name I discovered when Mel mentioned it. In that site, people went at great length building the site before agriculture existed. I do not know whether they are related. They are both incredibly old and both are places of worship.

I believe to be muslim means to submit to the true word of god. I'm in no way an expert on the subject but heard it on youtube a few times. By definition it makes sense for jesus to be muslim. Allah even means god in arabic. The difference between these abrahamic religions are minor to say the least. Either Jesus is god, or a prophet of god. Either the messiah has arrived, or he has not. Just follow your religion true to original scriptures and go on. Science carbon dating scriptures to their earliest version and correct translation are the only ways to reach the truth and both just point out that the bible had a lot added, taken out and lost in translation compared to the other books (torah and quran).

@@putrableeker151 its an insult to my intelligence and many others including Christians to discuss if Jesus is muslim. Anyway to satisfy muslims’ claim, let’s discuss. Jesus must be a very bad muslim or messenger of allah because he preached entirely the opposite to allah and even did not mention the 5 key pillars to be a muslim. Secondly, he acknowledged the Father while allah specifically rebute being a father. Thirdly, the reason why muslims claim Jesus was a muslim is because he prostrated in prayer. 😃 come on! Jesus did pray by looking up at the heaven too. Besides there are evidences that islam copied everything from others including how muhammad was caught praying like the Jews n when questioned, he quickly changed . Jesus never mentioned about hating or forcing non believers to believe but instead preached love your enemy. List can go on and on! Stay away from islam! An early century political cult created by Arabs to control the people.

@@aig1111 as I said, I'm ill equipped to discuss this type of content. I only came to share what I heard. One of the only things that I know for certain, which I can reply to your comment is that Islam in itself does not allow for compulsion in religion and that arabs aren't the benificiaries of the faith, as they don't have a particularily high standing in it according to muslims I do know. Please visit a local mosque to discuss your findings if you do want discussion around the topic of religion.

@@aig1111 also I respectfully ask you to contest the meaning of muslim in my original comment. You may not be able to separate the word 'muslim' from the religion of Islam, but by definition it's impossible for Jesus not to be in the arabic language, as he follows the true word of god. Is that not correct?

@@putrableeker151 there is a verse about no compulsion in religion yes u are right. (2:256) That was initially added to gain n deceive the people to gain their support. However later a verse was added 9:5 . Ask yourself, is there no compulsion in islam? What happens when a muslim leave his/her religion?

Didn’t anyone who is detached from Islam really need to study to know that Islam was copied from other monotheism, and it’s a very bad copy my 12year old could do a better job. Says a lot about those following it.. More then that I believe Revelation 9 deals with Islam.. 1woe and second woe!!

It appears that there has never been an original thought out of Islam. Everything is a copy of some other religion.
