@@u.canthinkpositively I apologize for what I wrote a month ago earlier, perhaps I was a bit off-balance when I wrote that. And I don't see right now what I responded to, perhaps that triggered me somehow. Anyway, the evidence for evolution is absolutely overwhelming, there are mountains of evidence for humans being part of evolution from common origin. This means, unfortunately, that a lot of religions have been proven false: All religions that claim humans were separately created. I understand the evidence, so therefore I understand that evolution from common origin is true. It doesn't have anything to do with authorities like Dawkins or any kind of feelings or social needs, it's just understanding of facts.
@jesan733
@jesan733 4 ай бұрын
@@u.canthinkpositively sure, among the mountains of evidence for human evolution, we have the genetic evidence where we can see how genes have been copied along an evolutionary tree. For instance, we have the fused chromosome two in humans that are two chromosomes in apes, but where the fused chromosome in humans retains remnants of an extra middle and extra "ends" within the chromosome. We also have e.g. endogenous retrovirus genome remnants, where we can see how some such extra material has been inserted before we split from various common ancestors, and some after. There's literally millions of such evidences in our DNA. We can also use the same molecular clock analysis to estimate time since lineages split, that also works for other species and with subspecies. Other evidence involve vestigial features, like the grasp reflex in babies, serving no function anymore but is very useful for ape babes to hold on to the mother's fur while she has both hands free for climbing in trees. We also have remnant muscles that can move our ears slightly, that in some monkeys are used to direct the ears toward sound. Then we have common flaws, like the recurrent laryngeal nerve that due to evolutionary history takes a bad detour from the brain around the heart and then back to our larynxes, introducing a signalling delay and a slight vulnerability. Then we have fossil evidence of human evolution. All these lines of evidence can be expanded upon and each contains huge amounts of separate proofs.

"The mantle of science is being missused to promote metaphysical naturalism when it's description is only to methodological naturalism" atom bomb of truth right at the very start Brother Subboor is indeed an elite on this issue, glad you invited him, there's so much to process in this 1 and half hour I'll have to rewatch multiple times as per usual when it's Subboor on lol but also the mention of NDEs is very intriguing stuff.

But many of the world's leading scientists and philosophers of science are saying precisely that science does lend support to metaphysical naturalism. This includes Subboor's own source such as Puggliucci and Ruse. If this is in Subboor's opinion, 'misuse', then why is Subboor pretending to speak on behalf of the 'academic understanding'? Why doesn't he admit that he is instead challenging a widely held academically respectable point of view?

You must not have listened to the video. Appeals to authority (big scientists believe X) or appeals to majority (most believe Y) are fallacies. The whole episode is about why prevailing ideas are flawed. Ironically, that’s what happens in scientific paradigm shifts. One minute everyone believes in one theory, then cracks form, and then people realize they were wrong. I’m not even gonna touch the absurd idea that “science” makes metaphysical claims. Do you even know what you’re talking about?

@@AntiKaratekid science doesn't make metaphysical claims, yet science proving evolution from common origin and science not finding any support for miracles still lends support to metaphysical naturalism. One of the biggest drawbacks of evolution is that it fails to explain why we don’t see evidences of evolution on other planets i.e the potential for life on other planets to originate and adapt to their unique conditions, which is from inorganic to organic (not yet proven)and than develop by adapting to that planet’s unique conditions and as complex as our planet earth.

There is one verse in the Quran that describes the origin of the universe followed by the origin of life in a few phrases. It appears to describe the transition from chemistry to biology at an abstract level.

Assalaamwalequm my esteemed Brothers. I hope your Ramzaan is going well. It's always such a pleasure hearing you both when it comes to receiving Dawah. Brother Hamza Tzortzis's debate with Lawrence Krauss was such a gratifying experience for viewers like me because all of Lawrence's petulant approach and nerdy disdain toward Islam, coated with his haughtiness, was completely ripped to shreds by brother Hamza's amazingly cool and logically approach backed by his impeccable and enviable knowledge on subjects pertaining to the debate. It was exhilarating seeing all of Lawrence antics of disregarding the debate procedures, been taken on by brother Hamza and rendering a decisive knockout punch to every argument raised by Lawrence. Brother Subboor, your discussion at speakers corner with Rob the Atheist was another gem. Thanks to your vast knowledge and understanding on the subject, it was exhilarating watching you expose Rob's pontification about Evolution, clearly as a complete hoax Brother Paul, your amazing channel Blogging theology along with your amazing clips on #no-design is something that I eagerly watch. We truly are blessed by Allah (SWT) to have amazing daiees like you on the side of Islam. May ALLAH (SWT) protect, guide and bless you all for all the amazing work you all are doing. Jazzak Allah khair my brothers

This was 8 months ago. Have you changed your mind since? There's mountains of evidence for evolution from common descent and that humans are part of it. I would suggest that it's better to learn the science than to watch debates and tell yourself that your team won.

@@jesan733 if life on earth began with the biological cell, then what programmed the factory within the cell that scientist have only discovered now? Science only reiterates that there is an entity that has not only coded DNA but and all living organisms but also the universe. If you look at the Golden ratio or the Fibonacci sequence within nature, it all points to intelligence that is embedded all around. For the information to exist, there has to be a code giver. Here is what science has discovered about what was considered something not to intricate, which is a cell kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpDXiqWkq8SibKMsi=KSMj1b1louk9PYq9

it would have been more helpful if there was a slideshow. and for a novice it would have been helpful as well to lay down basics about theory of evolution, protagonist's opinion, response rather than jumping straight into terms and positions.
