Salaam alaikum Brother Paul! It would be amazing if you could interview Mujahid Fletcher - a Mexican-American convert. You may recognize him from the 'Why are Latinos Converting to Islam' documentary from Vice. He's incredibly well-versed in the topic of Islam in Latin America, as he is the founder of Islam in Spanish. It's amazing how Islam's influence touches every corner of the world... Alhamdulillah.

As a muslim living in Sweden for almost 14 years now, I can testify that what Dr Abdullah Sueidi described about Sweden and Swedes is correct. However, I must say the an average Swedish person is very kind hearted, upright and caring. They are a bit shy but overall they love humanity as a whole. I would also admit that Muslims that migrated to Sweden has also not shown a best example of how a muslim should be either and due to violence, riots and rapes (not that all are done by muslims but they have their share in that), media and political parties are cashing on this anger in the public and that is why the conservative anti-immigrations party has gained popularity in the recent elections. So we muslims have given Swedes a reason to hate us and we should behave in the best possible way to show them the real beauty of Islam. We should give back the favor that they have done to us and love them with our heart and genuinely care about them. This way we can co-exist as a peaceful society.
@harrybarry5224
@harrybarry5224 2 жыл бұрын
I'd like to counter with a different argument. What do you think is the common denominator between all people who commit petty crimes? It's socio-economics. When you have people mass migrating to a country where they have to start over and are met with resistance or reluctance to be considered for jobs, you breed a situation of high unemployment and low prosperity. This has always and will always continue to be the common denominator between all people from all over the world who are overrepresented in crime. Sweden is one of the few countries where a lot of Muslim refugees from Syria and Iraq mass migrated to. Most of them are refugees and immigrant workers looking for a better future but finding themselves to be at a disadvantage. The conditions from which they navigate aren't a world of privilege, it's one where it must be earned through effort sometimes requiring twice as much as those of natives who were able to enjoy higher education and have a safety net to fall back to. So the real solution lies in improving the socio-economics of immigrant Muslims. It is something the community must seek to improve from within but requires resources from the government too. So in essence, it has nothing to do with their religion or country of origin. It is lack of resources such as education, income, and social status that is the main reason for criminality everywhere.
@uetian84
@uetian84 2 жыл бұрын
@@harrybarry5224 I agree with some of your points and thanks for sharing your perpective. I agree that the immigrants were not handled properly and Swedish Government did not have a good plan for them like jobs, education, integration etc and yes the discrimination is real...but where I differ with you is that inspite of all this, it does not justify crime and violence. Some people in this condition suffer with victim mentality and blame government for their failure and then retaliate in wrong ways. I have certainly not been in their shoes but still world is not a just place anyway and you have to work hard to get what you want and as you said immigrants need to work twice as hard and this is the only right way. I have seen with my own eyes how young immigrants come here and they look for shortcuts like selling drugs and involving in gangs for quick money instead of studying and working hard. I also agree that has nothing to do with religion or country of origin but bad apples are in every community and yes when they are overrepresented in media for their crimes then it seems that all are like that. It should be a collective effort between the government and the community to support each other.
@am1156

@@harrybarry5224 This is true. I would also add that you are treated and made to feel as an alien and outcast which doesn't make you want to be constructive, on the contrary. My parents came to Sweden in the 60s and I can tell you that Swedes are generous, they will let you come in to the house to get warm, but only through the back door and only to sit with the servants (mostly). It is hard to gain access to the rooms where decisions are made. (This is also partly true if you are a woman, even though Sweden is the country in the world with the most equality between the sexes.) I saw an interview with an old Danish man who had come to Sweden as a refugee during WWII and he said that he behaved/acted the same as some of the refugees/immigrants of today; nothing to do with ethnicity or religion.

I have lived in Denmark for 4 years and sadly the Muslims especially the immigrants from war torn countries like Iraq and Somalia and also from Palestine have not been the best models...on the other hand older immigrants e.g Pakistanis have generally fitted well since their parents emphasized education and therefore alot of Danish and Swedish second and third generation immigrants are doctors and other highly qualified professionals..

Nadir Khan. Agree with you 💯👍🏾 In Finland we have a tatar minority which arrived to Finland in 19th century. This group has kept their Islamic faith yet they have been assimilated to our Finnish society well and are liked by most of the Finns. They even participated in the Finnish winter war against Soviet Union = Stalin. Some of them died in the war and their graves are well kept even to this day. With high work ethics immigrants can assimilate to our society which is very much like the one that Sweden has. I am a bit afraid of the salafi ideology that can be heard in this interview, with all respect though.

Yes they are wrong. But i think those refugess didnt leave their homeland for fun - they ended up in sweden, other european countries etc because their homeland were ruined due to american/britain/france etc ( but mostly america) who bombed, meddled in their internal policies, etc - so the refugees are desperate poor, cant speak the european language, cant get jobs due to racial/religious discrimination, dont have the skills sets to work in the new country etc ==> thats why those refugees turn to crime, drugs etc. Yes their reaction to these socio-economic problems are moronic. But also human. I think if it was me fleeing to a foreign land to escape my war-torn country etc - i may have made the same mistakes. The question is now - since the refugees and their descendants are there in sweden what can be done to integrate them ? Also i think spiritually the muslim refugees who made bad choices- they have lost their path, since their behaviours are against the teachings in Islam...

All I heard is how bad is Sweden (except mentioning that most swedish are kind), and these requirements of assimilation are jot warranted. No mention of specific crimes and causes why these policies might have been enacted. Swedish( and European) people want to see their values live on for the next generation just like you want to see your genes live on in your children, it s a natural thing. Multi culturalism is not working, it s obvious, so if you are coming to a country it should be obvious to try to assimilate in respect of the natives. Unless your coming to conquer by force or by outbreeding.

The reason politics has recently changed in Sweden, a country so tolerant, it welcomed hundreds of thousands of Muslims....is because crime went up drastically. Rape, gun violence and bombings. The change in politics is because the safety of the country has now gone. Isn't it peculiar how this man has avoided that all the way through this discussion, which confirms why the Swedes may have realised their error of trust and naively believed this was a good thing. Crime and more crime is what they got. This man tells the story as if the Muslims are victims.

@Abc abc - do you think these are the only factors why Swedes have moved far right in politics? Could the 60,000 negative stories about Muslims in mainstream media in Sweden be a huge contributing factor? Most people still believe that stories in the media are the truth but a lot of times these stories seem to be have a specific audience in mind and to sway these people into a particular way of thinking. Negative stories about Islam and Muslims seem to be the norm in a lot of European countries feeding on people's Xenophobia and here this leads to islamaphobia!

My question is. If Europe becomes a Muslim majority continent... Will it still have it's freedoms and will the humanity values remain a priority as it is now?

Rape, gun violence and bombing was there well before Muslims came to Sweden. It's not anyone fault that your sick in the head and blind to other people committing crimes and when someone who happens to be Muslims commits a crime then you make it a big deal

@@ty7596 Not total true. The rape statistics increase mainly between 2014 and 2017 but that's when Sweden change their rape law's. Every change in the laws made directly a increase in the statistics. But that's just like it should be, if you start count new things as rape it should increase. Let say you start count sexual assaults as rape the rape numbers would increase with as many sexual assaults you had before. But yes, bombing and shooting increase in Sweden and that need to be stopped but still there is not more people in Sweden that's getting killed then the rest of Europe and its lower then around 1990. Even more people in Finland ate getting killed then in Sweden per capita.
