Islam is a Russian and a Muslim. Most westerners are gonna hate him by default and be mad that he's that good. Volk never at any time proved better than Islam. Westerners just wish he was and Volk skull is paying the price for buying into his own hype. He's good but its same thing with McGregor vs Khabib. shouldve taken defeat with grace. instead came back and was truly humbled by a dagestani that was tired of people doubting the decisiveness of the victory. Volk will likely never truly recover just like McGregor. People say Volk has such great character. I just gotta say *When it comes to volk, a lot of us had high hopes for him but with hindsight we should have all seen that with him having to cut all that weight on such short notice, would effect his ability to be durable. He just got back from a surgery on his arm, he wasn't training fully, he was heavier than he usually is.. He should have never taken that fight with those circumstances... Islam literally had a full camp, decent time off, was able gradually get his weight sorted out. Volk fought Yair in-between the time of Islam & Volks match. While islam hasn't fought since the last volk fight. Of course volk will be the most compromised and able to be wobbled then he ever has been... Because he usually doesn't crash cut weight and have all these things challenging him on a 10 day short notice hail mary situation... With hindsight i really wish we all supported Volk in not doing this because Islam would NEVER have accepted and done what volk did if the circumstances were exactly the same... That's just the truth.. so i hope people don't be too hard on volk or over analyze like (now he's losing it..) it's like, no. There was just a dumb moment in time where someone great took a huge risk and it didn't work. That doesn't mean they are now going downhill in their career, etc. Etc. Like all these videos talking about "they are worried about volk" like come on.. we as fans should not be this harsh.. no story is ever the same. We shouldn't be so all or nothing. ~~~~~ When it comes to Volks post fight interview people are worried about: I think it's just now while he's focused & committed to fighting competitively, that he has the desire to stay active & push himself because he knows he can't do this forever. I think he will be fine once the time comes because he has an amazing family, friends, hobbies outside of fighting. I think it's just a misunderstanding of how hard he wants to compete In the chapter of his life where he is an active professional athlete. *If that makes any sense?

the difference between russian dagestani fighters and western fighters, is that the dagestani train all year everyday, so if it was the opposite, islam will find it easy and it will be just like any day 11 day notice won't be a problem for islam, the other thing is, fans need to stop giving the excuse of the short notice, when volk himself accepted and said he was 100% ready, and he will finish islam first round + if it was for 3 rounds and he got tired and was beaten i would believe the short notice excuse, but a KO in early first round give islam all the credit, and deprive volk and his fans from any excuse
