Chandigarh was best till 1980's and after that due to political interference rules were amended and like other cities, it's degradation started. Born, brought up in chandigarh, I used to walk and cycle on roads in chandigarh and love to ride cycle on dividing road of 9-10sectors till Kissan roundabout. Love to walk through university and GCM 11 College road. The overall cleanliness and functioning changed when MC was introduced and the work load shifted from Chandigarh Administration to MC. Everything deteriorated and degraded. Now one can't think of how my city has degraded, overcrowded, traffic jams etc.etc. For the first time in almost 50 years of life, I had encountered potholes and that too in middle of main roads resulting in damage to rims and tyres of my car. From city beautiful to city potfull. No matter chandigarh was India's best and beautiful city, but lust and lack of political will makes any city a garbage pit.

A total number of six potholes in three stretches, got my car rim repaired thrice from Malwa tyres in sec-22 chd. Now re-carpeted!!! Move on in internal road of sector 34 from prasaar bharti radio station. Still not repaired there are many alot. road connecting (internal) sector-45 towards sector 44. There are many. just roam about and you will find many, specifically in Western southern part of Chandigarh.
