I guess he might have missed the point there. "God is anything but your imagination". which means the creator of your mind and imagination cannot be confined within the limitations of such mind when it was the god himself who created it. god must be way greater than that so he can't be imagined or envisioned in anyway, not with such mortal eyes and mind. That's why idols in Islam are forbidden because they are created by hands.
