Thanks brother for your lesson. I have read these ayats in the Quran many times but I have never ever heard any one explaining them the way u have explained them. It makes 100% sense the way u explaining them. It's not easy to remove idolatry from people's hearts without actual visual aid the way Allah did by tell the Islaelites to slaughter a cow to teach them physically that cows can't save themselves from the slaughter sword and so they can't be worshipped as a diet. Thank you. This lecture answered a lot of my questions everytime I read about these verses. But some questions remained, such as why Samiri was just casted away instead of being punished or killed, and the Imam said some people followed Samiri after he casted away, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the Quran that Samiri left with a bunch of followers, actually Moses said that the punishment for Samiri is that he would say "do not touch me" to others, living in isolation and wandering alone.

Ive read/listen to surah alBaqarah, read the translation , listen to lectures to understand about the story but still dont fully get it. I guess i didnt really cannot connect the human psychological, or really relate to the situation of that era. As a Jewish believer, I find the purity of tawhid in Islam incredibly beautiful, and I’m far from alone in Jewish history, and even now. I find a lot of your homiletical interpretation here to be beautiful and moving. Many peoples, cultures, and forms of monotheism are susceptible to this “Egypt syndrome.” But, my friend, please consider that some of your “extra” interpretation is unnecessarily uncharitable. You very quickly glossed over the idea that my folks were “fired” and the ummah got the job. That’s not how it works. We are together the custodians of tawhid. Both of our groups have had struggles with reversion to jahiliyyeh. Right now, your group is doing a better job of staying true. At other times in history, it might be otherwise. Can we please just love God and be kind to each other? Can we please not have these unkind polemics or stereotypes? A combination of envy of colonial civilizations from before the 20th century and unspeakable trauma from the Holocaust caused people to somehow think that displacing people and dominating them was compatible with our religion and values. That ideology succeeded for 80 years in convincing people it was part of Judaism. But not everyone, and it’s weakening. God is slowly making cracks in the icy shell around people’s hearts. You could be a helpful part of this. Some aspects of this video are not being helpful. Pray for us, that God might break that ice faster, and be a good friend to those of us who have woken up, or the smaller number who never went to sleep in the first place. We need more energy and support to try to convince others to wake up.
