George Galloway reveals Richard Madeley asked about his religion before going live on Good Morning Britain.
The Workers' Party founder and MP says that the ITV presenter had asked if he was a practising Muslim before he appeared on the show.
Good Morning Britain has been hit with Ofcom complaints following this tense interview between Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley and George Galloway.
MCB's Centre for Media Monitoring commented: "Really poor line of questioning here. George Galloway being asked before the interview whether he was a practising Muslim, as if that is something problematic.
"From the same presenter who asked Layla Moran MP if there was “any word on the street” before October 7 attack."

He should have responded first with "And so what if I have converted?" before setting the record straight about his religious affiliation. Anti islam rhetoric should be pointed and called out against. Undermining his legitimate win in the polls by affliating him to the religion of Islam is a clear show of using Islamophobia to discredit him which isn't the first time it has been used as means of 'slander'. Islam isn't some sort of scape goat that should be used to instill hatred towards anyone especially when there's no justified objective reasoning to do so.

And as you saw in the video, the host never brought it up until he did. I used personal rhetoric to convey that as a muslim, i would take a similar approach to his reply.
