Being a professional calligraphy artist. I think that this is a very specific profession. You have to be 100% committed. Be perfect, at least if you want to be recognised and be a high sale artist. I have been doing it for 15 years. 9 years of learning and 6 years of professional career.

AA, I started teaching myself Khat Thuluth for the last 2 years by watching videos of professional Khattats and practicing a lot. Is there any online classes offered by the Khattats that you mentioned from Turkey? I live in USA and very hard for me to visit them personally even within a year.
@Lymor16 күн бұрын
Even though this knowledge is passed down for free (the teachers do not charge their students) To learn the art of Arabic calligraphy *_is expensive_*_ anyways_ because I have been doing research about how the education of these calligraphers look like and the data I collected shows that at least 90% of them had the financial means to travel across countries and continents not only to get educated in this art form but also to visit their licensed teachers (teachers with Ijazah) for them to check their work after they graduate so yes, this is much more expensive than doing an art degree at least were I live. As with art in general these things are best studied when coming from a wealthy family or from financially supportive parents that are okay with sending you abroad and cover all your expenses for many years so you can devote your time into learning this art. Without this, I believe it is still possible to learn but difficult due to lack of money to cover the plane tickets, a place to live etc. I find interesting how these calligraphers choose to avoid this particular yet important part of their education when being interviewed in these videos... Anyways, good look on your journey ☺️

Leaving a pen at the grave of the deceased person to receive blessings is straight up SHIRK! DO NOT DO THAT! All Blessings come from Allah subhanawatAllah. Ask Allah alone as is stated in Surah Al Fatiha. Do not seek help and blessings from dead people!!!! They can do NOTHING for you! Wa authobillah
