A second surah is not Obligatory. Only the fatiha is obligatory and the surah afterwards is a sunnah, and Allah knows best.

Salam alaykum Is it wajib to adhere to the rule of madd, in which you have to prolong the vowel at the end of several verses to the same extent (in surah fatiha)?

it's proves that quran was compiled by holy prophet saw ... the word fatiha means opening , it was named by our holy prophet saw as it's in hadith no salah will be accepted without al fatiha..............
