These sheikhs are so brilliant! I love how their advice is so practical and full of sense rather than some didactic lecture.

Love what Shaykh Omar Suleiman said at 1:00:41 - that it is much better for you to ABANDON SINS that you know are a barrier between you and Allah swt, than to leave those things lingering around and volunteered more, gave more charity.. but did not take care of the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. So true! Excellent point!

My Salutation and my Salaam to my beloved brother in Islam, Br, Suhaib. I know him from Edmond OK. He was my Imam in the small mosque in Edmond. At that time he was going to a mosque in Norman OK to learn and memorize Koran. I once talked to his mother and tried to persuade and convince her to join her son and give Shahadah. She said that she had gained a real loving son when Suhaib converted to Islam. She was very supportive of Suhaib's new belief and was not objecting his conversion. However, she was not prepared at that time to accept Islam and join her son's belief. That was in 1997-1998 and Insha-Allah, she is already a Muslim. Insha-Allah, Suhaib and i will meet in Jannat.

So, Mr. Suleiman, what would you say to the woman whose husband lied to her? I personally know a sister who married a man who was very nice before marriage and told her that he had no problem with her working. Then on the first night of the marriage, he absolutely shot down that idea. And on top of that, he took her back to his home country and secluded her in his family home for so long that she almost forgot how to speak English. So what are we the sisters supposed to do about men who lie before the marriage and then do a complete 180 after the marriage?

+dammitidontknowwhatimdoing blackandredroses I am no Islamic scholar, but It is my understanding that she could have had those conditions written into her nikkah contract so when he broke his promise, thus breaking the contract, she could divorce him. Also, if what you say is true, then this sister is really in an abusive relationship and Islam does not condone that we stay in an abusive relations (marriages); so it would seem to me that she could seek divorce, and Allah knows best.

people speak about the lesser of two goods when it comesto the political process, overlooking that someone who goes along will more than likely end up compromiing deen itself, or more important aspects of it, habits are things that can destroy because you start to overlook the importance of them, which ultimately leads you astray, and Allah knows best

had me until the political stuff came up.. one thing to take note is we are not on Yusuf alayhi salam sunnah, after we have the sunnah of the one who is better than him.. and its a totally different beast to work in agriculture as to ruling over people in affairs that have to do with social and other things. Fear Allah, saying it is not sinful to support goverments as long as you dont support what they are doing in regards to dhulm and muslim affiars.. lol this is baatil
