Good to have you both out adventuring again. Twin moon shot at 04:05, howls of the locals was good fun. They'd probably like to join in the bacon, eggs and bagels breakfast, given half a chance. Cheers from Paul @ south east Australia 🌏

The Snowtrekker does really well in the rain without a tarp. It’s heavier when you pack out, and the garage is best to dry it in. I like the tarp idea to add an extra insulation in winter and shed heavy wet snow.
@AleconAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Oh good to know! I think I would still feel safer packing the tarp during shoulder seasons just in case. It's pretty neat how they've made a custom tarp for their tents. Thanks for the info!

Great to see another video from you! I have to say that is an awesome hot tent! I like the way that it is constructed! Perfect to spend time and fill secure from those wild Coyotes! Also a good plan to see fishing as part of your trip! All in all it looked like a perfect time to spend in the great outdoors! Definitely a big thanks for taking the time to share your adventure! Hey Rick, our Snowtrekker hot tent is pretty nice and just the right size for the two of us. I was surprised how many coyotes we heard that one night on the mainland. They were very close to where we gathered firewood. It was a very comfortable trip and it was a bonus to catch that trout. Thanks for taking the time to watch this adventure!

Nice. Like the reflector oven against wood stove. Works well. Splake is speckled and lake trout hybrid. Wisconsin has a coho, walleye and muskie hybrid. Called a Cowallski. Tastes like a braut.
@AleconAdventures2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting hybrid, it would be nice to catch and eat that. Thanks for watching Scott!

Wonderful trip! Really like the tarp with the hot tent, makes it more multi-purpose. It is a nice option for cold rain. :) You have a great cook there, Paige makes some wonderful meals! Thanks for sharing. :) :)

Hey Jacqueline, that tarp will come in handy during shoulder season trips. Paige is a wonderful cook and I appreciate every meal she makes. Thanks for your kind comments!

Nice little trip Alec. And hey, why not be out on an island in the middle of a beautiful lake this time of year. No bugs, fresh, crisp air. Must have been a little more work to portage the hot tent in but definitely has its rewards. Looks like you two are living the good life! Keep adventuring.
@AleconAdventures3 жыл бұрын
There was only one portage into that lake but we had to double carry with the hot tent/stove. It was definitely worth it to have a lake all to ourselves away from the main lake with cottages. Thanks for watching Ian!

Another great video, you guys are true outdoor adventurer. Your winter camping videos really motivates me for this winter adventure.

Hey bud, that's nice of you to say. There's lots of ways to winter camp and the best way to improve your skills is to get out on trips. You will make mistakes and learn from those experiences. Winter travel is less forgiving so know your limits but get out there and enjoy this beautiful season. Thanks for watching!

Do you guys ever have any issues with black bear from cooking in your tent outside the winter season? In this video it appears to be autumn when black bear are still active and searching for food.
@AleconAdventures Жыл бұрын
We haven't had any issues but there is always that possibility. We make a point to keep the tent extra clean during the shoulder seasons. On this trip there was so much hunting going on in the area around us that bears would probably have avoided the area. Lots of gun shots! Thanks for watching!
