as someone who did precalc my freshman year of high school, i may be biassed, but this is actually a pretty easy problem given we are required to solve form x without finding the square roots. Step 1: Distribute the 3/4 across (x+2) Step 2: Multiply both sides by 3sqrt2.5 Step 3: Subtract 6/4 (i kept it in 4ths so we have a consistent denominator) from both sides Step 4: Divide both sides by 3/4 Step 5: Simplify (72(sqrt2.5) - 6)/3 AKA literally just divide it through The simplified equation is x=24(sqrt2.5) - 2 It looks intimidating, but the worst part about it would be having 20 of them on a single assignment and spending an hour on really time-consuming math problems.
