I did the JEST in PI in 1980 when I was with 2/4 and again in 82 with 3/7 while at the huts in the Upper MAU Camp, I still have the two bolo knives I bought there, good training ! Oohrah

if its not written in the contract that you sign.... it will never happen. Get everything in writing or it doesnt mean shit.

@@topsecretbear9918 so true recruiter told me that I could be Marine and Ride dirt bikes and race on weekends that never ever happened

1994 I knowingly enlisted under an open contract. The only thing my recruiter promised me was the proud title United States Marine upon graduation of boot camp. Was assigned the MOS 5811/ Military Police PMO. So my recruiter didn't lie, lol 😄

@@tbob8212 mine did told me that I would be in engineers come to find out that meant either running a broom for mines or catching hang fires then a gunny came through looking for volunteers for Hawaii up went my hand then out what I volunteered for 03-21 was a blast

@@algilder2647 it was at Subic in 86. Went straight to the Chowhall at the finish. Stayed open late just for us. Got my patch had it sewed on some beige dive shorts and gave it to my Dad. Did the Army's Jungle Expert School in Panama also.

My uncle joined the marines right after Pearl Harbor. He was 14 years old. He served with Carlson's Raiders in the Solomon Islands.
