Island Wide Shutdown in MALLORCA'S resorts (almost)

Just to clarify as I've spotted some panicked comments, there are places to eat, shop throughout the island during the winter. Even in the resorts. Check last winter's videos. However the majority of establishments in resorts will close. The island is home to hundreds of thousands of residents and we all have to eat, shop and drink etc during the winter. Areas with high residential populations will of course have many many places to eat - Palma, Inca, Manacor. Don't panic if you're coming over!

Hi Alex, My family of 4 returned back from sillot on Saturday. We stayed at the Playa Moria and they staryed to close down on Friday, buffet dinner became table service with limited courses! On Saturday the pool area closed. Admittedly there was less people around, definitely a balancing act for Hotels and restaurants. Great updates Alex 👍

Very informative Alex, but I would go further South to the Canary Islands during the Winter season as your more likely to be guaranteed the sun!

Hi Alex, you're so right about the Local Authorities and Businesses needing to cater for and encourage tourists to come outside of the main season. This would likely mean less crowds in the Summer, and extend the months that work is available for local workers.

Hi Alex all the Baleric islands are now closing down but most of the Costa del sol stay open ill also book a week in Tenerife or Gran canaria January as the weather is still warm and sunny but freezing in the uk it's a great time of the year to get some sun😂xx

I suppose many resorts in Spain also will “close” this week also. If there are planes landing in palma for a few more days then I suppose hotels/restaurants will remain open. One thing I have often wondered is if all or most of the hotels in say palma nova became all inclusive would many restaurants have to close or reduce their opening hrs! Live Mallorca but went to salou this month so maybe next year, thanks for vid.

Just returned yesterday from Cala Egos and some of it has already closed in respect to bars, shops and restaurants. Definitely wouldn't book around there until next April 2025 based on my experiences of visiting this resort on a regular basis.

What about Alcudia? Is that local enough to have places open to shop, eat, drink, do sports and activities (cycle, kayak, swim etc.)? It's like full-on summer there in November if you ask the Nordics 😂

Palma is probably the best if you want hustle and bustle. Alcudia Old Town will be the least busy it's been all year and Alcudia Port lots open too. Pollensa Old town too!

Yes, when I was pregnant. It was lovely and sunny and I was in a tshirt. However, it didn't feel festive without the cold, rain and frost LOL

I've been in magaluf since 27/10 .place is dead nothing open. Very little people about the place weather is brutal so something I won't be coming back this time of year again
