This is still the only video on KZbin that actually shows how to use the tools!

Thanks, I wish Oneup had oncluded some sort of manual. I wouldn't have guessed the "top tool cap" could be used as a quick link remover.

Thanks for showing how these various tools actually work. I've wondered how you would tighten the OneUp specific top cap if the headset was loose, and how the chain break tool worked.... and now I know.

Hi there, thanks for you video. I’ve just install the edc tool but I think you are wrong with the multi tool quick link opener, because it don’t work with 12 speed chain. 🤷🏽

Great Video! Do you prefer the EDC storage in the head tube or the pump system?

Both are good but in use the headset option more often than not.

@@IslandBikeLife can you put the pump in the top cap system? I ask because there are a lot of good tools that go inside the handlebars, so I want to use those for the tools and use the EDC system to get the bulky pump off my frame and inside the steerer.
@IslandBikeLife4 жыл бұрын
@@joeadams4414 no the pump will not fit inside the top cap system.

Can you have the CO2 canister and the tool inside the pump at the same time, or is it one or the other? Thanks!

Same time for sure with the 100cc pump

I'm sold. These things are great. ONE tiny thing I'd wish they'd upgrade (if possible) and that's altering the C02 adapter with a release valve. I like the idea of having a C02 in the stem AND one inside the pump. I had TWO (yes, two) situations a few years ago where an "incident" caused us to need two C02 canisters. Ever since then I started carrying TWO C02 cans. This EDC system seems to provide that if you mount BOTH tool kits. From a couple other reviews I've seen that OneUp has designed these with the actual tools we DO NEED. I have a couple cheaper multi-tool KaJiggeRs here that aren't as practical, so I end up carrying 2 or 3 different ones to provide what I need and that's NOT including inflation tools--I'd rather just have these EDC kits. Thanks for putting them through the real-world tests so the rest of us can see they DO actually work! I saw the price for the whole set-up, seems worth it. ~JSV

Great job as usual!!🤙🤙 of and do u reccomend the pump and tool or just the tool? How has the pump performed? And do u think it'll fit in a small hip pack??
@IslandBikeLife5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I do like having the pump and other than the small O Ring that seals it sometimes being off Center I have had no issues with it. I would have liked it if that ring was integrated into the body of the pump. It should fit in a hip pack no problem and is light.

So now it's just useless, and we have to find an other solution, right?
@cunning-stunt4 жыл бұрын
@@ezydoor3850 The chain break still works no problem, it's the quick link tool that has been removed. One Up have introduced a plug and pliers kit for quick link removal and puncture repair. I complained about the removal of the quick link tool as I still run 11 speed. I got a voucher for a free plug and pliers kit, just had to pay postage. www.oneupcomponents.com/products/edc-plug-pliers-kit

Honest question, In a trail setting, when would I need quick link pliers? If I brake a chain wouldn’t I need a chain braking tool? In a shop setting, why would I reach for dinky little link remover pliers vs a full size pair of pliers? The only value I see is to tighten a nut. And last I checked modern bikes don’t really have nuts that would need tightening.
@IslandBikeLife3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I had that scenario where a buddy broke a chain and installed the link upside down. He was skipping gears like crazy so they helped to break the link and reverse it. But in reality, very limited resource.
@OOTurok3 жыл бұрын
Well... that's why you would carry spare chain links, with the tools. I had a chain break on the trail... once ... & used the spare links I had & chain tool to replace the one that broke. Of course the chances of that happening are pretty remote... but there is always that ONE time... & famous last words.
