Thanks a ton for making this content. It was very helpful for me when I changed all 8 of the bearings on my 2019 SB130. I ordered the same RRP main tool and #11 kit and also the 15mm extractor from Wheels. I didn’t realize you are suggesting #2 is required for the shock extenders until after I ordered everything. For others out there I was able to go without RRP kit #2 and even without the 8mm Wheels extractor just fine. Instead I used a combination of sockets and kit #11 to make it work totally fine (although not how it was intended in the strictest sense).

Super helpful and informative video. I have been vacillating whether to tackle this job myself as any DIY servicing of the bearings will invalidate Yeti's lifetime warranty.

This was such a critical video for my first attempt at replacing bearings- thank you!! For only marginally more cost than I’d pay to have my LBS do the work, I was able to buy both the bearing kit and all the RRP, Wheels Mfg, and Yeti tools. Such great peace of mind to have these tools and skills to do this quickly and easily in the future 🤘🏼

It should be kit #5 as all 4 bearings in an SB5.5 are 6900 units. Just double check with an email to Yeti to be safe.

Yes the kit direct from Yeti comes with the SI bearings. If all of them they are the only ones I wasn’t able to find a more cost effective alternative too. They are a pretty obscure size. It is too bad Yeti doesn’t sell them on their own but perhaps if you call them direct you could get them.

Excellent video, thank you. One question: what's the bearing number for the Switch Infinity? I know the link and seatstays use 6902.
@IslandBikeLife4 жыл бұрын
They are F6902-LLU-Max-EB. Very obscure from what I found and pretty hard to source. The cost of this by themselves I have found is nearly the cost of the whole kit from Yeti.
@Tracebeau3 жыл бұрын
This isn’t exactly correct. The 2 switch infinity bearings are part number F6902 2RS. The 6902 LLU MAX-E are the 4 other bearings For the link and seat stays.

@IslandBikeLife4 жыл бұрын
Yes Kit #2 I used for the extender. I would recommend an 8mm extractor though as the kit iAd this a 100% solution because the bearings are a double row and very thick. It only worked on one piece fully, might have been a setup issue but the extractor got it the rest of the way out.

No it does not work as well as Kit 11, it is simply too big. Kit #2 works the ‘best’ but isn’t a 100% solution. I would recommend an 8mm extractor to make sure you can get them out all the way, every time.

Fantastic vid. Loved it but also underlined why I'll never buy a Yeti. Ease of maintianence is obviously not a primary design principal with the number of unecessaey proprietary tools, all mismatched bearing sizes and duplicated methods of extraction required. RAAW bikes on the other hand are the opposite.
