My lockdown project, a service of my 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 including brake pads, shaft drive, engine clean and an Ironman Style rebuild. This one isn't a full garage video, more of a walkthrough of what I did to my FJR1300 during the locdown. I did a lot more than I showed in the video but if you have any questions please let me know. Just a bit of fun really.
Tasks completed:
-Full fairing stripdown, clean and reassembled (the Ironman bit at 8.15 😂)
-Front brake changed
-Rear brake pads changed
-Rear shock removed, cleaned and greased
-Rear linkage removed, cleaned and greased
-Shaft drive and U-Joint removed, cleaned and greased
-Centre stand removed, cleaned, greased and painted
-Side stand moved, cleaned and greased
-Side stand switch replaced
-Twin USB port added in glove box
-Engine cleaned
-Probably missed a few things there
Thanks for sticking around and I hope you enjoy the video.
Cheers,
IB

Love my 2009 FJR 1300AE! First ever, “heavy bike” coming from a 2012 NC700X DCT after 33 years off a bike. Logged 76,000 miles in 2.5 years and went on 3 solo cross country motorcycle adventures! Great vid, ride safe! 🙏🏻🏍🙏🏻😎😁

Your video editing skills are absolutely top notch wow. I've just bought another FJR after having a brief fling with a K16GT. You deserve way more subs. Take care.

Hahaha, awesome edit... was expecting a kitchen sink to be added to the pile up of bits you "needed" to do the work, and awesome transformer/iron man clunks and clicks! :D

Duuuuuuuuuude that intro. I'm here taking notes. The shock roll to the toolbox was class. Ah the double spanner a tasty trick....I just slap them with my paw as I am an ape. What did your neighbors think of you getting all the b roll from the bushes :D Nah I getcha they garage vids are hard to make, I enjoy them a lot more with a cameraperson! Haha re watching Marvel is a great shout! Hope you and the family are keeping well :) Great video as always :)

Thanks man, I think I keep the neighbours out a little. Apparently hanging around in bushes with a camera is not the done thing. 😝

Check out my silly Iron Man bit from around 8.29... I've been watching a few too many Marvel videos I think.

Mate, that video was awesome to watch! I wish I had those kind of editing abilities for mine! Almost made me feel guilty for watching something of such production quality on KZbin! :) Anyway, subscribed so looking forward to the next one mate!

Great video very informative, I've taken my 56 fjr apart to have all the panels resprayed, unfortunately due to covid I didn't get them back for 9 months in which time I've forgotten how to put it back together, any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How hard is it to remove all the painted panels as me and my mate are taking his apart today as he wants it all re painting
@challenger_commander

Hi, not to hard, just take it slow and steady and make sure you get all the fastenings out. Good luck.

@@challenger_commander the hardest part was removing the front fairing around the headlights !!!! There is a screw right behind the Yamaha badge that’s only accessible if you remove the headlights and to get to the headlight screw fixings are a complete pain in the rear. Is there any chance of the top of your head why the screen doesn’t lower itself back down when the ignition is switched off, it is only operational when you hit the grey button ... cheers thanks
@challenger_commander
@challenger_commander 3 жыл бұрын
That is about the toughest part I think. Good that you got it done without snapping anything. Not sure why the screen won’t drop. My Gen 2 always did but maybe there’s a mod to stop it as I know it does annoy some people. Take care and stay safe.
