That's almost GS-level finishing and attention to detail. Out of all the divers one could buy - and lord knows it's a crowded field - this is probably the most value for money you can get.

The reason behind the design choice of the 15 minutes color shift on the bezel is that it mimics the 15 minutes countdown you often see on divers. Whereas 50/50 is more reminiscent of a GMT setup, which personally would bother me to see on a diver! Nice watch, good review as always.

I really, really wish this has a 12 hour bezel since it's doing the bicolour thing that way. Cool watch concept though and a genuinely perfect fit on your white strap.

Bought the watch. Didnt wear it much at first because of the weight. Then I put it on a nato strap from cnswatchbands and I like it much more. Do note though, that the spring bar holes are 2.5mm in diameter, so "regular" 1.5mm spring bars arent going to fit. I just used the spring bars from the original metal bracelet for the NATO strap. You could technically use a 1.5mm spring bar but it would wear the hole out after a long while

I own about 3 LIW and love them, but I think a Zelos Mako or blacktip (which i both own) at $500 is better. The finishing of the watch is better. The dials are also a bit better, plus the micro adjust on the straps are way better than LIW. I love LIW and it's a great bang for the buck watch though.

I always love zelos designs for the most part but what detracts me is the use of c3 lume. I’ve come to the point of owning enough watches to where I know I just hate that green tint on the dial

@theknightswatch They have a ton of watches that use BGW9 lume. The ones I get are all BGW9. Also, LIW uses a lot of C3 lume as well. They also have choices that use BGW9. Edit: My Blacktip, Comet, and Spearfish are all BGW9.

I bought the ISL-154 Northport - black dial/grey bezel. The "poor man's 62MAS" but exceptional in every way the Seiko SBP143 isn't (except the Seiko name & sunburst grey dial). I cannot recommend this enough. It is the perfect desk diver - both sporty & dressy. AND !!! the bezel is SKX-mod compatible, so it can be changed up to what you like. I may buy another just to keep one, change the other

Not sure it really competes with the top Chinese brands at this point, who offer a whole lot for around $300, sometimes less.

Depends. This one is a more original design I would say and compared to the Chinese ones. I like the name better 😂 other than the San martin Tudor pelagos rip off I haven’t come across anything around there that really is competing personally. But I haven’t tried everything

I haven’t had those in had but I do prefer this watch aesthetically. Much more tool oriented for helm. And the lack of ease getting one I think makes it “less attractive” for someone just looking for a nice watch at this price. I would love to try one though!

Many think Islander watches are made in the USA. Only two are. The rest are from China. Nothing special about this one. 1001 other Chinese specials are just like it. Save your money, buy quality.
