I have the omega aqua terra black dial, and this dial seems highly influenced on this, obviously with a few changes and their own pattern. It’s a very strange watch for me, as it’s trying to blend an aqua terra (more toward the dressier side, with a lot of polishing) with the genta inspired look of all in one bracelet, but by making everything so slender and polished, you loose the tool watch industrial look of genta / integrated bracelet look. It’s a weird miss match which for me just does not work. I can see why some people love it, but I wouldn’t buy it. Great review btw.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say it would be nice to see a sub-35mm PRX. I think the 40mm is good for men with huge massive 9 inch wrists, the 35mm is ideal for most, and something smaller is needed for petite ladies.

Great in depth review video. Just picked up the new one with the NH34 movement and GMT function, blue dial. First San Martin so looking forward it based on their rave reviews. Tried on the actual Pelagos and was very close to pulling the trigger on it and now I am curious how this compares, though San Martin at less than 10% of its retail value. Have the NH34 movement in the original Seiko 5-orange dial and the movement has been solid and reliable. Thank you and wish you all the best. Cheers!

@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 17 күн бұрын
Ya I don’t see why not. It’s a 2824 clone and that’s not a movement we are seeing at this price point often. Sure we aren’t yet sure on the reliability of the movement but that’s the chance you take. If I understand correctly too, I think the 450 listing is for a true sw200 movement but they don’t make that clear on the listing so hard to tell.

I think it looks so beautiful on your wrist. Having owned the Kurono you referenced, I think this dial is more dynamic, and I actually find the case more interesting than the one on the Kurono. Did they offer any explanation as to why the one thru ten characters are bold, while the eleven and twelve characters are "lower case" for lack of a better term? Well done my friend.
@theknightswatch
@theknightswatch 17 күн бұрын
Right! It’s a lively piece. And I agree the case is almost more interesting here but the kurono undoubtedly feels better on wrist to me. And that lower case feel is just the numeral I believe. Took a Quick Look at Kurono and they do the same thing. I never noticed until you pointed out but interested how the line structure is so much more sparse on those two.

@@hayyuencheng c'mon. SW200 is originally from Switzerland and is not a clone. I actually don't want to explain, even the movements produced in China have very excellent ones, such as the Seagull. There are many examples of this, and I suggest that you don't have bias against Chinese manufacturing. It does have some negative news, but there are definitely good things. It's strange that some friends believe that this watch is our plagiarism of a Japanese brand. It is ridiculous that as one of the four ancient civilizations, lacquerware craftsmanship has a history of over 5000 years in China. Lacquerware had already appeared before the Neolithic Age, and the Han Dynasty lacquerware art in China about 2000 years ago was one of the greatest chapters in the long history of Chinese lacquerware civilization. The small Japanese nation, on the other hand, secretly learned Chinese lacquerware craftsmanship during the Tang Dynasty in China. The famous ethnic costumes and kimonos worn by Japanese people today originated from the Tang Dynasty in China, and the Japanese sword originated from the Tang sword in China, while the Japanese script originated from the Chinese characters. A Chinese person has never learned Japanese script, but they can understand many Japanese characters because there are 1006 Chinese characters that Japanese people need to learn in elementary school, and 2136 commonly used Chinese characters as standard in daily life.

Great comparison I haven’t thought of. Between the two I would say the Max bill wears better and look much more dressy. This one is almost a hybrid of a dress/ field feeling watch. @@theknightswatch thanks for the reply! I’m personally torn. Just be clear: are you referring to the 34 mm or 38 mm Junghans? I prefer small watches, but I am concerned that the Junghans might just be a little too small at 34 and too large at 38 (I have a similar wrist to yours). Hence my interest in this at 37, even if the lugs are a little long.
@theknightswatch

If you have a similar wrist size to me you can pretty much pull of either size. The 34mm will feel more vintage and dressy, if I had to buy one today it would be the 38. Extremely short lugs so it wears well .
