Just go right into the creek...get what they want & so on. Yep, you can tell they are Florida born & raised...nothing scares them! 👍 No worries about shaking AFTER the harpoon toss at the gator! Just an adrenaline rush...you handled that perfectly! Most folks would've had a heart attack...not Miss Kelly! Whadda pro! 🤙😛

That "eel" is a "One-Toed or two-toed Amphiuma". It's eel-like, but It's an aquatic salamander. They don't like light, so they come out and feed mostly at night or in darker areas. Most of the time they spend their days under some mud or thick beds of leaves that are underwater. If you took a nice handful of wet leaves and stuck them in the corner of that tank it will try to hide in them.

Kelly, I think this video is one of your best! Clean family fun! Filled with adventure, surprises, a video anyone watching would want to be included! When I was a small little girl my parents hunted Gators 🐊 if any of my 4 sisters & I saw a alligator, we’d tell Mama or Daddy. Then they’d take us fishing 🎣 with our cane poles sticking out the windows of our old cars. Cork bobbers on our cane poles! Then us 5 girls would be fishing & Mama & Daddy’d go get the Gator! Daddy’d skin it inside our kitchen floor with me right there acting like I was helping Daddy, I’d be holding a leg while he was skinning because if you nicked the hide it took away from the price you’d get for your gator hide. They paid you per foot. So if it was 5 ft. 10 in. You’d take a nail down at the tail & throat skin on a long sold board. Take it down & stretch it to 6 ft. If they was over 6 ft. The gators would have tougher hides & the price went down. So they always tried to get the gators under 7 ft. The ones under 7 ft. Was safer & easier to handle in our situation. Paid more per foot & went down in price the longer & more buttons the gators were. We had plenty of relatives that liked getting the Big ones. Then open up the hide & salt it down letting it stay like that for a week . Then it was taken rolled up put in a grocery paper sack. Then rolled up & put into a choker sack. A bag that cow feed came in. Put in a dark secluded safe spot. Then when Mama had 5 or 6 hides . She’d take all of us girls, cane poles & go up to Cornwell , N. Of Okeechobee at a fishing camp where a man there would buy all of our gator hides. We just looked like a bunch of poor kids wanting to go fishing for supper & was never Stopped by law 😵💫😱😬❣️ My Parents would sure enjoy seeing the high tech way the Boys & you Girls hunt Gators 🐊 & eat them, cause we never ate them it just wasn’t something anyone knew to do back in those days. You’re a fast learner Kelly & Sarah! Proud you Girls aren’t afraid of the creepy crawlers out there & just 💪💪wade in there & help get the job done, yelling , snakes, biting bugs, dark nights & so much more, most Girls would run the other way🙏💪🐊🎣😬🤣❣️✔️

@Kelly Young, If you guessed eel, you’re wrong! This eel-like salamander is called a two-toed amphiuma. Its snake-like body, diminutive legs and dark eyes make this amphibian quite the spectacle. Amphiumas are sometimes referred to as “conger eels” or “congo eels” and live in swampy ecosystems where they play a critical role in managing populations by consuming a varied diet of frogs, tadpoles, small snakes and turtles, fish, insects, worms, snails, crayfish, carrion and even other amphiumas!
