Hey Kelly love your videos. With the aloe what I do is I cut what I harvest into portions and freeze.. and then when you need it you pull them out of the freezer trim the skin off all but one side. Then apply to skin.. it is so releving when your sun scorched or over heated. I hope you try this method . God bless

Here's a way to keep flies away from your cooler (or filleting table or whatever): fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and tap water, add a few drops of lavender oil and lemongrass extract, give it a good shake and spray it on whatever surface you're trying to keep clean. The mix doesn't hurt plastic, wood or rubber, but avoid spraying it on bare metal surfaces or cotton fabric. It may also tarnish chromed surfaces over time.

Like you, I always use fresh aloe gel when I get a burn. I know the edges of the aloe leaves are spiky, but I would leave the edges on the leaves and just remove them as you go to use each leaf - it's not like you won't have a knife where you're going. The more integrity each leaf has, the longer the gel will stay fresh, don't you think?
