Yep, I vaguely remembered some of it, but it has been years since I did the story mode start. For some reason I never went round there in survival, I always assumed it was a fairly small cut through, not that large an area!

You can use the pistol to scare off wolves. If you shoot around the wolf, without aiming, they will run away.

Ah that might be where I have gone wrong, as I usually aim when I used it. Usually when I aim and shoot, even if I hit it it still goes for me. Good to know I just need to shoot from hip :)

@@IslandPotato I use the revolver for wolves until the I get the bow. Revolver is useful but I prefer to convert the revolver rounds over to rifle rounds once I reach lv5 smithing. Therefore just carrying one gun that packs a big punch for heavy targets and chain killing timbers, remembering your path for picking up those casings after tho is bit annoying XD. The bow is then used for wolves and rabbits due to both those animals being common and arrows being easy to make to deal with them. I run the bleeding revamped in my games so you can stack bleeding effects and none are lost on follow up hits. However you also bleed health, like when you're actually losing blood, if you suffer the bleeding debuff. Hence revolver is better in it, but arrows still win over it again.
