I am an American retired in Cebu. As I slowly learn Bisaya, I do realize that there are many similar words in Tagalog and Bisaya. Bisaya makes more sense for me living in Cebu. It might sound strange, but I have really benefited from learning to sing some Bisaya songs. I have found that singing has helped me develop a better ear for the language, and I am slowly learning the meanings of the words in the songs I have memorized. It took a long time to find a Bisaya college class, but I finally located one and I will be starting soon.

My wife and I discuss the meanings of different words often. She speaks English, some Waray, Bisaya and Tagalog. I speak English and Spanish. So many Spanish words hiding in the languages here. We've decided there is no equivalent of the English word 'goofy', let me know what you think. (We disagree with Google btw). Still enjoying your videos.

We usually call tagalog within the Philippines. And we used only tagalog in this video. Because I (Maricar) speak tagalog, I am from Luzon.

Filipino and Tagalog is just the same is just that we called Filipino as official language and tagalog mainly speakers is in part of the north of the Country while Visayas/Cebuano is part of the central and the South
