god isle 8 is becoming nostalgic now. imma be honest, I defo prefer isle 9 because of how repetitive isle 8 was becoming. we had it for a year, yet it was still so simplistic. anybody who tried the game could become good at it in a month of playing it. isle 9 gives SO much more to do. new lore, new items, waves of enemies, and so many new titles and endings. even though it is the first half. we waited a year for this update to come, and I'm not afraid to say that it's absolutely beautiful with what they've done with this little island game.

isle 8 had virtually almost nothing to do after the 4 escapes, plus isle 9 overall looks better and matched the devs' vision for the game more and it shows. ppl say isle lost its identity with this update but tbh the mystery and allure is still there, just in a new and more polished font. i feel like most of the contempt for isle 9 comes from either mobile players who struggle to run it or from long time players who are only used to isle 8 and not so much about the content within :/ it's great and like everything, it has flaws that probably only i or you view as flaws, but if it reverted back to isle 8 like some fans are wishing rn i and many other players would be immensely disappointed.

I think this update was really cool, the new lore, escapes, badges, things to do. Isle 8 was nice and all but once you’ve done everything it kinda just gets boring cause now you’re asking, “What now?” I think Isle 9 brought a good batch of things for people and should keep us all busy for a while.

I personally think being able to see the merc’s radio chatter was a disgusting overlook of what makes them scary in the first place. Also, the game is too easy now. Guns spawn basically everywhere, and there is a ballistics vest right next to spawn. I haven’t done all the alien hornet stuff yet, but when I find it I’ll review it.

Seeing Isle 8 is like seeing a video with a friend that passed away. My heart started pounding and every image of isle 8 left me in disbelief. Treebee said that isle 8 probably had better lore but isle 9 takes the cake for content. There are so many mixed feeling but i am happy with the update. I know it has made us feel like we might want the old isle 9 back with its perhaps simplistic lore but would you not get tired of it again? Isle 9 is so much better for content, maybe less of the simplistic isle that we liked but in the end i think we will all agree that its for the better as it really spices up the things we loved about isle 8 and makes room for more fun challenges and surviving public servers waaay more exciting. When I first played Isle 9 again, I was coming back to Isle for the first time after a long break. It was so refreshing to come back to Isle 9 and yet.. It's crazy to see how many changes the team made while keeping the silhouette the same. Kudos to Badorkbee and the Isle team for bringing us this.

You'll see all the badges in Isle 9, and then compare them to Isle 8. You can simply find a guide online on how to do most badges, with Truth being most likely one of the hardest, yet being entirely possible in 2 in-game days solo. If you take a look at something from Isle 9, The Pylons & The Reunion, the amount of time and effort that goes into actually managing to get these badges is considerably more, and it makes you realize, how much do you actually have to do to get the few badges left with no guides? One great example is The Orbit (I think), as once you complete The Pylons and ask Blue Mantis for an escape, he says you need to "solve the island's problems", those problems being the Parasites and the Mercs. The Parasites appear after completing The Pylons, and also during the Hangar raid, and they're extremely powerful, and on top of that, you also need to do TC. The effort you need to put in to actually get the harder badges feels much better than completing Isle 8 badges. As for the looks, the meshes of most buildings make the map feel a little more alive, especially with all the foliage and the imperfect building designs. The extra areas added also make the downtime between getting from place-to-place feel much more smooth, and you're almost always gonna see something new while travelling across the island. TL;DR: The content in Isle 9 is better, higher quality, and actually feels like you're achieving something when compared to Isle 8.

The only problem for me is lobby. Because in Isle 8 there was 600-1000 activity per day and when you join a lobby there a lot of ppl who wants to do some TC or TT, you can just join someone easily. In Isle 9 there 3,5k+ activity, but when you join a lobby only 1 or 2 group of ppl hosting something, others are just staying afk, you need to server hop for searching a good party which takes about 10-20minute

isle 9 is almost better in every way for me, the single thing i don't like about it is summoning mantis takes a bit too long (im averaging over 2 ingame days in a duo lobby and barely making it to mantis before it becomes night when i speedrun solo), i think the heat and experimental range nerf kind of makes the game a lot more unpredictable, and therefore fun. The stan rework actually makes him terrifying, i remember running away from commander while trying to do the Mantis quest and being jumpscared by him, much scarier than when he was simply some dude standing still. If badorkbee added a isle modifier that ran isle 8 with whatever improvements you wanted, im sure i would go back to it from time to time, but for now i still prefer the new update majorly to isle 8

Like Ive stated previously, it's a mixed bag. While most players will blindly love the new stuff, it definitely feels like Isle was perfect with Isle 8. It's like when amazing standalone movies get mediocre sequels, it's still good, but it distorts the original image. I think it's clear that the devs were pressured to over deliver. This feels weird to say, but I honestly think more smaller updates adding things that are good: Weight System, Stan Revamp, Lab Changes, Hanger Ending, Most Poi revamps. I was one of the most excited people but now that I have the update I realize that Isle seemingly has lost a large part of it's identity. Also I hate the new roblox textures with a passion and I think they need to add an option for classic textures. Also the overuse of meshes sometimes feels inconsistent with blocky things but its a minor complaint. Also why are they fleshing out the isle lore when we know it's all a simulation anyway??? Would love to get second opinions.

honestly, i feel the same, the game had way too much content pushed to us at once, the overuse of meshes, new textures and everything else makes you forget that the game is isle anymore, and the new enemies, creatures, and everything else doesnt make sense like the isle was the Isle in isle 8, it was the actual isle, Isle 9 is just recreation of the isle 8 map but better and with more stuff, Everything is too confusing to figure out on your own aswell, Not only that but every ending and badge except for the hot air balloon escape is very complicated and not alot of people can actually do, Isle 8 sure wasnt hard but it wasnt easy either, It was good though, Having to explore the map to get a ending, Is better than having you go into a mirror dimension which already doesnt make sense, get a code to disable a bomb just for peanuts, and then have to press 5 buttons around the map to give a dragon peanuts just for 1 single escape, Which dosent even make sense and must've been a pain to figure out for the first people to find it, It doesnt really fit isle either with the amount of weird new stuff they had to add, like you have to go into a mirror dimension? you have to disable a bomb for peanuts? Sure Isle doesn't make sense a lot with the artifacts and stan and stuff, but at least THAT fit into the lore and you could understand it and it was good, but having to disable a bomb for just peanuts doesn't make sense at all, and it's just forced lore that the dragon likes peanuts. So in my opinion, Isle 8 is definitely better because it was simpler and easier and had a lot more adventure in it.

Isle 9 is exactly better. Graphics, mechanics and etc. In isle 8 I could just do 3+ TC per day because it was the only way to fun with other players(TT was to hard with random ppl and most of them just die, so just killing mercs was funnier). But in Isle 9 there a lot of stuff. For example while are you doing hangar you need a lot of guns. Here comes giver, new lab, mantis and etc
