So sad that Chris just passed away today. I will keep him in fond memory as a great musician.

Norman Angell, 2 March 2021. Just announced today that Chris Barber has died today aged 90. The last link with all the great British Trad bands I enjoyed watching as a young man, I am nearly 85 now. Names like Freddy Randall. Humphrey Littleton, Sid Phillips, Ken Colyer and just a bit later Acker Bilk. Who will carry on with this fantastic music we all enjoyed? Thank God we have Alexa to remind us of happy days in Tradland. Rest in Peace Chris, in my book you were top of the pile!

Brilliant! I've got tears in my eyes. My dad was a drummer in the Clyde valley stompers and Jim Mcharg's Scotsville Jazzmen. This music brings back great memories. Going out to see a 'Trad' band tonight.(in S. California) I hope they're good.

Amazing....Superb.. Phenomenal.... Chris Barber & His Jazz Band....I'm Professional Trumpet player, Bandleader of Dixie Swingers Jazz Band from Lindoia, SP-BRAZIL. I see your videos and also I have several CDs,Vynil of Chris Barber which play any themes of Chris Barber. One of my vinyls is old record with Otilie Patterson singing Saint Louis Blues. Very good Vynil. I have also one good contact with Bert Grandsma that also send your videos. Thanks for send your videos,I see all. My personal Best Regards.

Probably those who would not like to dance to fast music like this dislike the video. What a shame. Thanks again for sharing Chris barber, Monty Sunshine and colleagues.

Not a darn good time but a GREAT time and the best time of my life!. Living in Hammersmith gave me access to all the great venues. At one time, working in London, during some dinner breaks, if my memory still works properly, for I think a Shilling, which included a tiny carton of milk and an apple, the International Wool Secretariat had Trad. Jazz in their basement área, for an hour, would you believe. Brilliant to spend the afternoon back at work with that music ringing in your ears!! Happy, happy days!!

erwigfilms thanks for all you share and for those priceless insider comments. puzzled about date of Isle of Capri 1994 compared to all the others in the Chris Barber 40th Jubilee Tour which are shown as 1990 all appear to be in the same place and time - maybe 1994 is try coz it is 40 years after band formed in th 1954 ??? ULAJAZZ new boy on the block

erwigfilms thanks for all you share and I enjoy your inside comments and your history. I am puzzled by the Isle of Capri in the Chris Barber 40th Jubilee Tour that youstate is from 1994 but the other pieces are refered to as 1990 - they all appear to be in the same place and I suspect at the same time so is it 1990 or 1994 (1994 would be more appropriate coz it would be 40 years after the band formed in 1954) Thanks again ULAJAZZ new boy on the block
