Another track from the Out Of Nowhere Lp released in 1965 on Ken Colyer's KC label.
A classic New Orleans tune.
I have recently uploaded a 30 minute film "The Semantics Of Popular Song" provided courtesy of Indiana University Library - Moving Image Archive. The film has about 7 minutes of footage of Clancy Hayes singing and playing banjo. It is a treasure.
For some brilliant present day jazz performances take a look at the epiphontic channel. Various combinations of superb musicians have recorded remotely to produce some of the best jazz I have heard in a long time.
And finally please take a look at the superb film "Piano Jazz - Chicago Style ", performed by Ray Skjelbred, produced by John Ochs and directed by John Ochs and Ray Skjelbred. It won the History Documentary Award at the 2018 New York Jazz Film Festival, which says it all.
Enjoy.

My father on Bass, he's 82 now and not in great health, this was recorded two years before I was born. I remember him telling e about Sammy hypnotising him one night and all manner of mischief trying to get him out of the trance

Back in the 1960s I greatly enjoyrd Ken's visits to Goerge Webb's "The Hot Club of London" at the Shakespeare Hotel , Woolwich, South-east London. And the occasional "All Nighter" at Ken's club ,I think it was at Great Newport Street ,. Best live jazz ever.

Thanks for posting but, for me, this hasn't got a patch on another version of this number I have by the Crane River Band and, I believe recorded somewhat earlier, in the early 1950's I believe.

When you post these videos,why don't you tell us who is playing which instrument rather than just listing a few names ?
@clancyhayesjazz8226
@clancyhayesjazz8226 2 жыл бұрын
The number of characters in the listing is restricted to 100, therefore it is not possible to include instruments. On occasion I cannot include all band members names and will use a + sign to show there are more. The videos invariably include all musicians and instruments where known; if unknown I will say so. I hope this answers the question, and thanks for watching.

Why don't you list them in the "comments",so that ignoramuses like me know who is playing what ?
