Ftps motorsport what do you think of these terms for guys its balls of steel. For women bikers at the TT its flaps of fire. Or iron curtains 🤔 🤣 think the only folk who can put a candle to these folk are those who donn wingsuits n fly so close to mountains they could reach out their hand n touch them! Total Respect💯

Totally different type of motorcycle racing that shouldnt be compared like for like,its a bit like saying rally drivers don't have the talent to be F1 drivers or chemists are failed doctors.
@Trickshot726 жыл бұрын
Geoff, I happen to know for a fact that the top racers hate racing the TT course, they do so in a state of mild terror, and the fastest rider is usually the one who is willing to take the biggest risk. Course knowledge, ability and equipment are comparable for all the top riders. If they had the talent and skill to be successful at short circuit, they would doing it. They ride the TT because it is the only way they can earn sponsorship money.

Some people don´t understand why adrenaline freaks risk their own lives seemingly for nothing. I´ll tell you why. Because when you are on the edge of life you start to enjoy life. When you risk your life you can feel the actual difference between life and death and therefore you start to appreciate life. It´s all about that difference, that feel, that

How does one memorize every kink, apex, bump, jump and surface change on a 37 MILE RACE COURSE? I guess self preservation causes immensely sharp focus! Anyone with experience, or not, have an opinion?
@FTPMotorsport6 жыл бұрын
+john matson if you look through this videos comments, one by Scott Butler says that he raced there in the 1990's. I reckon he will have a good insight into it if you were to ask him :)

The same way that any other motor circuit racer is able to memorize every turn, bump, kerb and track side detail of the 20+ different circuits they race each year. It's muscle memory, similar to having to memorize a number of different but routine things in your daily job. Eventually you come to a point where you're able to operate/work efficiently and fast without even having to think about what you're actually doing and what you need to do next, you know where everything is stored, located and what it looks like, you could navigate around your workplace in pitch black, you know all your main contact's phone numbers off by heart, etc. It'll be the same sort of thing for the riders. You do it enough times, you come to a point where you've memorized it that well, you can do it on autopilot and daydream about other things at the same time.
@5olace6 жыл бұрын
Blasphemous sim racer on a controller but like. Isn't the actual Isle of Man course roads only closed off for that one week for the entire year? If it is how does one even get legitimate practice when most of the year the roads of the isle of man are just public roads flowing with traffic?
@ericzinter95356 жыл бұрын
Solace: Many ways to learn the course: watch full lap on-board camera videos (kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2XaqIaVf55ogsk ), come over and run the course at night ((no traffic) in a rental car (Peter Hickman), get first hand experience during practice week. I have to disagree with "Blasphemous"-- I don't believe any of the riders (that survive racing the TT, anyway) daydream. They have an amazing ability to stay focused while being shaken and slammed around, subjected to stroboscopic sunshine through the trees and changing road conditions, all while processing data input from their eyes, ears and even ass much faster than the average human. For a relaxing 1 hour trip around the course, check out kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJnGi6SXm9epnck
@TheJer19636 жыл бұрын
Guy Martin says it takes about 7 years to really learn the course.
