The Isle of Wight Mardi Gras, held in Ryde every last Saturday in June, is the New Carnival Company's flagship event and showcases the very best of children and young people's carnival experience through learning and creativity.
Recently the Isle of Wight became the third place in England and just the 6th area in the UK to be awarded this status. Becoming an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve means the Isle of Wight is now recognised as one of the best places in the world to explore the sustainable way people interact with their natural environment.
The Mardi Gras held in Ryde this year was a perfect way to celebrate this great recognition for the beautiful Isle of Wight.
