Did you bring the gas for your stove on the plane? I heard you're not allowed just wondering how you got them if you didn't bring them.

Hi Dale- you are correct. Gas is not allowed on the plane, but it can be purchased at the rock harbor and windigo store. We arrived before the stores were open for the season but the seaplane company contacted them so we were able to purchase when we got there. Have a great trip!!

You can do Isle Royale smarter instead of harder by taking a boat, kayak, canoe, and use it as base camp to day and multi day hike from. You will see far more of the island and get to places the hikers can only dream about, faster and easier. Pack and gear weight becomes a non issue and you can bring lots of luxuries. Win/win+Bonus!
