That was an excellent way to describe it. He's changing chords a lot but keeping the same note through these changes, so you get this constant smoothness over and throughout the roller coaster 👍🏾👍🏾😀😀

Reharm with descending bass notes while retaining lead. Like Jacob Collier said, you can play bass note as long as you keep that melody to justify.

Wow Walter, I love this arrangement. I used to play the Pete Huttlinger arrangement which I learned directly from Pete (one of the nicest men I have ever known) but I haven't played this song in a long time. I love the jazz chord substitutions you use after first using the basic chords and walking bass. Now I have to hope you put out a lesson on this one (which I will happily pay for) but I am still hoping for Autumn Leaves and Blue in Green. He's just tapping 12 frets up from the note directly on the fret :) It's not too difficult a technique, more so without gain at all admittedly, but very cool indeed!
