I was actually surprised we got an Isoknock before we got that Knock2 album that’s still coming this year, which I cannot wait for

I gotta be honest with this album. I mostly enjoyed the time I spent listening to it, but I think overall the album plays it very safe. Whenever I expect a switch up in the songs, it either kind of doesn't work for me, or there's a lack of switch ups. Mixdowns are mostly very solid, but there's some very strange decisions like the kicks in the 2nd drop of Thrash, or the lead in the intro of Trouble. Bantu's vocals on Energy are also overused where I feel like the repetition lacks what it asks of the vocal's melodic autotuning. But yea overall, I have an easy favourite which is Signal. Love the way the lead progresses over time with the sombre tone underneath. I also really love that middle section switch up, it's a bit of shame the last section kind of dismisses the sombre tone for a more standard trap section. Really looking forward to see what Isoknock can cook in the future, currently not a fan as I think both of the artists have better work under their own aliases, but you can tell there's a lot of potential for the future :)

I forgot to mention: I think overall the album could have so much more depth, there's not a lot I hear in relistens that I didn't notice, what I got at first listen is what I got at more listens. Not necessarily wrong in any way, but a lack of depth is a huge distaste for me haha

Such a strong introduction to the two aliases joining together. So different but still so familiar. Bloody love these guys

Brutally honest, this album is basically a one listen and done. I was expecting waaaaay more from them. Only song going to a playlist is the one with Grime and maybe the first tune

Not gonna lie, when Smack Talk dropped in my recommended I thought this album was going to be fire. Ultimately, thats the only one that has staying power for me.

This basicly tracks by ISOXO with a snare from knock2 and some Festival things from Dogblood

It’s definitely an album of festival music, stuff to jump and dance to. Not the best for listening to in the car lol

I think that this album has something for everyone. People don't just listen to these songs with headphones; there’s a reason they played at Coechella. I don't think this album should be taken too seriously as a collection, but more as two artists creating something fun to appeal to a huge audience. Even though there are a few cheeky cheeksters in there!

Trouble is easily the standout here for me, that track is soooooooo nasty 😩
@kekkodance3 ай бұрын
i think you can hear that some of these tracks weren't produced in the same period, i feel they threw this project together to get into Coachella (which they did and had the opportunity to announce it there)

This album is certainly not a cup of tea for everyone, but its still nonetheless masterfully made. My favorite parts are first half of THRASH, entire SIGNAL-BLIND-4EVR segment and of course, SMACK TALK being a star of the EP i cant remember how many times i have relistened through the before mentioned songs...
@crim-jim68143 ай бұрын
I gotta say, this album kinda dissapointed me. Don’t get me wrong, the are cool vocals and melodies, but other than the standout SMACK TALK there’s not alot if any tracks that show the highpoints of ISO and Knock.

I unfortunately didn’t like any track in here Its not really doing it for me Im not the biggest listener of either of them so maybe thats why That said, I definitely see the appeal and its pretty well made. I could maybe see myself getting into Signal the most its growing on me a little Just not for me overall
@nathanfernandez89523 ай бұрын
This album is so bad. I made sure to force myself to listen to it twice to try and like it but i just cant. I only like the techno / hardstyle drop in THRASH (PARTY STARTER) towards the end of the song but thats all. Knock2 has dope house music but isoxo's trap beats just contaminate anything knock2 touches in a bad way.

I cannot fathom how ISOxo is blowing up outside of just riding off the coattails of Knock2. His production and mixing just genuinely does not sound good at all. His trap drops often sound far too bland and empty to be interesting, while his melodic production is far too sibillant and harsh. Also saw him live a few days ago and it stunk, he couldn't put the mic down for 5 seconds and just kept yelling into it. I think it's time to let the hype train on this guy die for good
@libra_v33 ай бұрын
that's a wild take, iso's stuff objectively sounds cleaner than knock2's. he only uses what needs to be used to achieve the desired heaviness, no extra fat. his melodic approach may be harsh but he also doesn't play it safe, it's all very raw and true to him. I also prefer knock2 to iso myself but to say iso doesn't deserve the spotlight is mad to me
@kekkodance3 ай бұрын
iso's production is on par if not CLEANER/BRIGHTER than knock2, i can hear when he sprinkles his magic powder on productions and when it's just knock2 mastering
@rosemarY.693 ай бұрын
I can suggest a song from Iso called MOONSPELL. The song is not only clean on production, but I feel that Iso really understands the right amount of heaviness he needed for that track, and plus it goes hard asf.
@yourlordandsaviorcucklord09953 ай бұрын
You definitely have an undeveloped prefrontal cortex, I'd assume it's bc you only listen to mid excision switches and call it "different", iso and knock are both changing the edm scene entirely idk what your yapping about 😂
@namduonghoang83123 ай бұрын
@@yourlordandsaviorcucklord0995 right? There's one fact to acknowledge, which is both ISOxo and Knock2 have become one of the most rising and shining artists we've ever had, whether you're their fans or not. I don't mind if you're not his fan, but dude, ISOxo deserves the spotlight, to me. It's really his style, and if you don't like him from the beginning, don't come, don't listen, that's all
