CLICK NOW: lp.musora.com/drumeo-30-day-trial?oid=62&affid=103 - If you have a song suggestion, drop an artist/band AND a song, so I can specifically check that song out! Ok word is bond i’ve never double commented ever! As a professional musician,Drummer and guitarist I have to say we have something extraordinary with this kid,he has what we call intuition,i’d put him in a band that needs a drummer any day of the week! I’d like to add that i too kick with Jay 4’s,I polish my pedals too but i’ll admit i couldn’t do what this kid does on a single pedal. My man is truly talented,as complicated as Gospel drumming is the creativity in metal music, especially contributing to one of the worlds best drummers of all time is so money you cannot comprehend! I’d love to work with kid,i’d be honored in fact! The kid has the brightest future possible and i’m going to tell all my peeps at Victory and Interscope about him. Best upload to date Drumble! Brilliantly edited with the unheard and after the heard version play. Absolutely Magnificent episode!

I mean... What does age have to do with anything? I've heard some 8 year olds nail Slipknot songs with ease. Practice makes perfect. Also the best drummers are the ones who don't stick to one genre but try to embrace it all and learn as many techniques as they can. They become versatile beasts on drums.

@@timkrash9190 You could also say that by taking on challenges like this Joshua us doing "what the best do" by taking on new genres and improving his ability to be put on the spot. You can 100% tell he wasn't ready for it, but every time he got back to a part again it was cleaner and sounded better. By the end he was doing an incredible job. My only tip to Josh may only be practicing more active listening. It seems like while he was listening he didn't play around too much which is something you would see someone like Chad Smith do right away. Either way he's only 16 and he's got a great career ahead of him.

Kid plays incredibly. He looks super comfortable while he’s playing. A very controlled energy. Pretty cool to see since a lot of drummers would be really swinging and moving while they’re playing something like this. Really good performance for three listens. And 16 years old? Craaaaazy. Tons of time to grow as a drummer and he’s already ahead of people who’ve been playing longer than he’s been alive.

Lil dude is a beast! Even though he was out of his comfort zone, he gave it a shot and took a lot of chances during the retake after listening to the original (and even tried to respect the original groove as much as he could). That was phenomenal. That right foot control is mental! What a legend. Imagine what he would do if he had a lot of time to practice, create and record a song like this on an album.

Honestly the poppy drums from the first take sound good on the last chorus! It would totally fit the mood if I saw it live. Great chops young man! And awesome for you guys for partnering with drumeo. Love both channels

So nice. Really like the punk attitude you gave the refrain in the first take and it's crazy at the end, when you leave your comfort zone, love it! Great work and awesome anticipation :) 2nd take's just impressive

I love stuff like this. Not only is it challenging the drummer, it's exposing them to genres they probably would have never listened to otherwise, and you can see the respect and understanding of the genre as they listen and play along. This is how we share culture. It's not appropriation as some would have you believe, this is how we all come together. I'd love to see someone tackle Selkies: An endless obsession by Between the Buried and Me!

To be fair apart from the all time great Joey Jordinson, Slipknot had also 2 percussionists producing some crazy fills, so give this kid some mad respect for making a decent effort on a monster track! Way to go lil fella!

One of my favorite episodes! 16 years old and taking on slipknot as a challenge! I teach drums to kids your age. I'm definitely going to show them this video about perspective. I love metal and gospel drums so this is just so awesome. Joshua Grant, you got a fan. Appreciate you and drumble for this series.

Smart to capitalize on drumeo’s series. There’s no reason why other channels shouldn’t follow the same format. The audience wins

After hearing it, he did a goddamn stellar job OUT OF HIS GENRE. It is nuts. Keep going dude, no matter what genre you play, it will always be appreciated. Such a good spirit about it too, while not being given a double pedal lol

Jeez, I have so much respect for this. Kid says in the beginning that rock isn't his cup of tea, then by the end clearly has a good feel for it. Seen the 1999 video too, enjoyed them both. Talented kid.
