Last Sunday, I read Quartet in Autumn by Barbara Pym and thought I would just upload a little video all about my reading experience. Let me know if you've read it and what you think of it.

I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the book. It's on my library wishlist so I hope to read it at some point. It's good to have day resting and relaxing after you've been ill.

Hope you are feeling better. I read QiA last year and I loved it. I thought the story depicted four people who lives seem trivial but are, in the end, meaningful to each other. Their work is so meaningless that no one at their own company knows what they do and they won't be replaced. The four aren't friends, but they mean something to each other because of the time they have spent together. I don't think they realize how much they care until they aren't all together every day. Even then it's like caring about that elderly aunt we have whom we don't necessarily like but we care about because she is family. They have a found family even though they didn't look for one.

Getting sick after a flu vaccine…that sounds like something that would happen to me too! Oh, brother. I’m really glad you had a book like Quartet in Autumn. I love Pym for certain moods and situations - like this one. And Quartet in Autumn is one of my favorites. Maybe it’s because I’m 59 and can relate to retiring. I enjoyed seeing how both women adapted or not to their new non-work lives. It’s a book near and dear to my heart.

It’s my favourite mug 🥰 The potter who makes them also makes a matching highland cow mug that I desperately want to get but they go out of stock so quickly.

I need to read a Barbara Pym at some point. Shawn the Book Maniac had recommended Some Tame Gazelle as a starting point. Would you agree?

I've not read it, but I would trust Shawn over me when it comes to Pym definitely 😅
Should books be published after an author's death?
