I need to step up my top ten game next year; these categories are terrific! I keep going around in circles trying to decide where to start with Han Kang. The Warm Hands of Ghosts sounds so good, adding to my list.

I've read The Wolf Hall Trilogy about two? years ago and I loved all three. Brilliant work. Human Acts was the last book I finished in 2024, and it was a great book! It was also heartwrenching. I want to read more by Han Kang. I've read Agnes Grey years ago and loved it! However, my favorite by Anne Bronte is The Tenant of Wildfell Hall-excellent book!

Your videos always make me smile and I love the categories that you came up with particularly the Thomas Hardy prize one! I've added the story of a heart and the warm hands of ghosts to my tbr. I appreciated nuclear war and it has definitely remained with me as an excellent read. I attempted question seven from the Baillie Gifford prize but didn't get on with it so curious to know how you find/found it. Hope that 2025 is also a good reading year for you 😊📚📚😊

I read Loyalties, The Story of a Heart, A Little Trickerie and The Warm Hands of Ghosts on the back of your recommendations and they were some of the best books I read last year. I’m so glad you were able to find some gems in a tricky reading year and hope 2025 is full of lots of wonderful books.

Oh, how I loved The Warm Hands of Ghosts! It’s on my baker’s dozen list of favorite books of last year. I’m trying to figure out what you didn’t like about the ending, but since I don’t specifically remember the ending, I’m having a bit of trouble with that.

Yay!! The story of a heart was a phenomenal recommendation. I had goosebumps as you were talking about Kiera’s dad seeing the ambulance off. 😭 I’m so glad to have read it. I’ve also added Loyalties to my wish list.

Do you read YA? A book you might like is Things a Bright Girl Can Do by Sally Nicholls, it is set during the First World War and is about the suffragette and suffragist movement, and also features a sapphic romance! Happy New Year 🎉

Agnes Grey is so good! I still haven't read anything by Hilary Mantel and I must remedy this! I've heard such great things about The Story of a Heart!

I can recommend "Death and the Dervish" by Mese Selimovic and/or "Hadji Murat" by Leo Tolstoy. Both gems.

I’ve just finished Nuclear War and completely agree, brilliant/terrifying! The Story of a Heart sounds like a book I need to pick up ASAP! Laughing so hard at your categories 😂😂

I knew watching this video was not going to help with my goal to read fewer books in 2025

It doesn't look like Another Little Christmas Murder is widely available in the US, so booooooo. I also think Bring Up the Bodies is my favorite in the Wolf Hall trilogy. Love the categories!
