@@elduquecaradura1468 Not if you think of what was said. It was mentioned how the system is under quarantine. The ship couldn't leave it when it arrived even if it tried. So the most optimal way to get them to leave is to repair the ship. Of course, it most likely hacked in and saw the logs on the ship's fight and the crew being merchants so filling their cargo too just encourages them to leave even faster since they have no room for more "goods"

Up until the last message, I had the impression of a Coast Guard cutter run by a Bolo AI that was going about doing its regular Coast Guard patrol duties and dealing with visitors according to standard rules of engagement.

I think that's still possible, but it's hungry for revenge, because one time it tried to trust, things went BADLY. So now it is STRICTLY duty. Though maybe when the humans catch up to it again, then they'll be like, "nha, chill, let the nice ones in".

In last part they mention they trusted once. If you could knock out someone walking up to you but trust them they can walk past you to your house. Then set your house on fire. No matter what you do to them your house is on fire. They describe a earth around 1800s level development that has supper advanced ship enforcing a quarantine of system. The reason of who entered seems implied factor of response. Entry on purpose death for surveillance, interaction of any kind. Entry due to unavoidable state, needed repair - repaired and informed is quarantined system. If they delayed exit may have been destroyed in response.

The ending confuses me. Those that came in with violent intentions were destroyed fine. The one ship allowed to leave was there to damage, we repaired it top off it's tanks and sent it on it's way. Cool no threat to us no harm to it. But then we send a message that as soon as we get back to space we are going full xenocide on the galaxy ? Now for me if the final message had been. We ventured out into space once. We trusted others, we befriended others. They attacked us, burned us, drove us back in time. When we return to space. we will not trust you. We will not befriend you. But if you do not attack us. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO LIVE. This is your only warning. That would have made more sense as we allowed the frieghter to live.

@@valtiel2589 You have a ready-made excuse for the inconsistency. (SPOILER FOR PART 2 BELOW) .. ... .. Since the pilot of the ship is essentially a human-turned-cyborg, he would be subject to many of the same failings as humans, including having "moods" and deciding inconsistently to spare one alien ship even though he later decides that the safer option is to exterminate all aliens. Maybe that could even be a plot point? Does he decide based on his own feelings, or does he ask the Earth humans to decide if all alien life should be exterminated (all over again, since obviously it has arisen once more) and if the latter, does he abide by their decision?

Been following him for years now. He started out a bit rough imo. With weird emphasis on certain words, pauses at the wrong times, wrong emotion at certain times, etc. But he obviously got the practice in with all the narrations he's done so far, and he's really come into his own style. Using other words than the original text was off-putting to me at first but it adds to his charm now. The emotion he puts into his narration and the different voices he gives characters have improved by leaps and bounds. He's quickly become my favourite HFY/Sci-fi narrator. :)
