Never paid attention to the bass in this song until we worked on this together. It is a great one! Fantastic Sam! Couldn’t have done the cover without you!

Never listened to as many stuff with Voormann on it but he always impressed me and with the songs I know him doing I'd say he's a great addition to any song

Klaus never overplayed. He played exactly what was needed. A busier bass part would not have served the song in my opinion.

Klaus's style was very well suited for this more intimate material oh John's first albums, and it was also in line with the early 70s sound with less compression approach like what Alan Parson's did with Pink Floyd. And the P bass is ideal for this.

Thinking of Voorman’s 50 or 60 year old strings that he never changes on his bass. =)

I had just listened to this song on the bus during sunset, and it was hypnotizing. What great timing with this video.

Lovely as always! You should do Wah-Wah on your bass too. Also, before you return the 325, you should try Tombstone Shadow!

Another side of Lennon with his pal Klaus on bass. Would you consider "I Call Your Name" by John from a more innocent time?

It sucks that the first two Beatles who died are the two that would have had a lot to say right now. The current situation goes against everything the Beatles stood for: love. It’s may be to hate, but the more love there is to go around, the easier it is to spread, because in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. I guess I don’t have to like it; I just have to accept it. It’s gonna be hard, but all we can do now is survive, as pessimistic as that sounds… Isn’t It a Pity?

Couldn’t agree more. John would have so much to say right now. I’ve been going back to George’s quotes and his North Star was always spirituality and the fact that all things must pass. It feels hopeless right now but everything changes in time 🕉️
