@@whitehawk4099 no actually. German Kaiser focus tree does that for you. They give Austria Hungary and checkoslovakia a modifier, once unaligned support is high enough in all 3 they form Austria Hungary (this one is technically formed under Austria)

If you have no division, the civil war starts but only Thrace should be annexed. Quickly train 1 division before the war and annex quickly. My record for civil war is 7 days in the game time.

I’ll see if it comes up in this video but the “Nightmare of Meiji” achievement is also on the table for this playthrough. I just realized there is actually no achievement attached to it, but rather one of my favorite focuses in hoi4. The idea that Emperor Meiji was actually genuinely concerned by the possibility of an invasion of Japan by the Ottomans is kinda hilarious.

It's actually the other way around. The Sultan feared that the Japanese emperor could convert to Islam at any point and claim the caliphate. As the sick man of Europe they had no way to prevent that. Weird paranoia by the Sultan but I mean if the emperor wanted to...

that last achievement is fucking abysmal. You need to be in faction with Germany and Austria-Hungary. So you have to go ahistorical and hope that A-H forms and Anschluss does not happen. Then you puppet them and it is done but the build up is just mind numbing since you need two random things to happen (German civil war and Austria or Hungary going the A-H route). I gave up on like 8th try.

I can confirm that this achievement is hell even with a plan and some exploits. Defeating the Allies creates a supercharged Axis you have to beat later, but first you have to rush to Japan before the Americans can capitulate them. The Soviet AI is completely inept, so it falls on you to take out the Axis.

For anyone interested in doing the achievement just a quick tip to save you grinding warscore. You need only to "control" the provinces and not "own" them through a peace deal. I've done this achievement on a-historical and got it after naval invading Rome. Didn't bother to finish the war with the rest of the Central Powers. The game got bloody slow in 1951.

I managed to get this achievement on the 37th try. Never touched Turkey again after it and I am not planning to do so any time. I basically cheated in the civil war by turning everyone into 2 width anti air units, bumrushed Greece and Bulgaria, invited Romania into my faction called "I HATE THIS ACHIEVEMENT", bumrushed Yugoslavia and Hungary with their help, then threw them out of my faction and murdered them so I actually had a bunch of Ottoman cores in May 1940. I killed the UK after that, got a bunch of stuff in North Africa and Arabia in the peace deal (plus Gibraltar), which meant more cores. Slapped the shit out of Spain, Vichy France and Portugal in short succession for more puppets and cores. Depriving Germany of all their potential allies (except, yknow, Italy) really helped with slapping the poopoo out of them shortly after while they were balls deep in the Soviet Union. Japan was basically an afterthought after all that. But man, never again. Tibbies has a very good guide on how to get the achievement.

This achievement actually not that hard, if Germany brings back kaiser. when you ally with Germany and help them in the war. you will need to get their only capital cities and ships in the conference. then you can invade Japan with that navy. in my save I was with the best luck. German went kaiser. Hungary went habsburg Japan went communist and destroyed its navy. I spammed submarine and stole navy of italy, then naval invaded England.
