UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya does a hard pad session with head coach Eugene Bareman in preparation for his rematch against Robert Whittaker at UFC 271 in Houston, Texas.
Adesanya (21-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) knocked out Whittaker (23-5 MMA, 14-3 UFC) in 2019 at UFC 243 to claim the middleweight title, and the pair are set to run things back Feb. 12 at Toyota Center in Houston.
Whittaker admitted he got too emotional in the lead-up to their first fight and while Adesanya appreciates him acknowledging that, he understands that having self-awareness can make Whittaker more dangerous than his previous opponents.
“This is the best I’ve ever come into a camp in shape, and I’m not going out of shape I promise you that,” Adesanya said on his KZbin channel. “I have a point to prove to myself, but just also to like, you know, those people, I just want to shut them the f*ck up. I mean the motivation for me is just that he’s not making excuses like (Marvin) Vettori or (Paulo) Costa.

Bad style matchup for Rob. To beat Izzy you need to grapple. There were several openings in their last fight that Rob could have shot and taken the fight to the ground, but he never even attempted a takedown.
@HoldMyNts

@@Grannyknockers the reason he didnt because there was no openings 😂 the way he strikes and the way izzy fight, even if he got close he still wouldnt be able to, but the 1st fight israel managed so much distance if rob shot it would be straight air to grab 😂

@@cameronlawlor1852 Jan just had a good strategy, so yes, he was biting on every feint, but the strategy was smart, he knew he couldnt tell if he would strike or feint, so he played it safe and blocked any thing he threw, whether its a feint or not. Smart veteran move to recognize his most valuable weapon, so u cant say his striking isnt the best, he outclassed a lot of fighters striking, but Jan the vet in this game knows how to strategize even beat one of the best strikers in the game

@@allforgreatness9883 yeah! Try look it up if you like but believe me it's the real deal. Especially with Israel being a seasoned kickboxer it makes sense. A lot of the older kickboxing and Muay thai vets at my gym do it too. And when it comes to the colour - specifically some of the old coloured nail varnish (particularly in the late 90s to mid 2000s) had all sorts of sh*t chemicals in them that were notorious for hardening the nail - which was bad for women/the average person but great for kickboxers haha - at least that's what the older guys told me 👍
