EYGPT's fault alone they did not allow gazans to flee at onset of war which is RULE OF LAW. Then Israel would have steamrolled Hamas IN weeks not going on 2nd yr and forced Hamas total surrender and gotten all their people home! But oh no Eygpt did not want or allow that.

It’s not an insurgency. It’s a response to Assad -like Palestinian actions of 7 October 2023 and given the hatred in the Palestinian society that wants to see the destruction of Israel, it is necessary for Israel to take back and control the land it gave away in 2005.

@ Gaza, Judea, Samaria were never stolen. The land, which was barren, started flourishing and yielding fruit when the Jews started coming back in the 1800s and early 1900s. In more than 1 war, Arab nations banded together to destroy the nation of Israel. Instead of being destroyed, Israel gained Gaza from Egypt and Judea and Samaria from Jordan. But in order to have peace, Israel relinquished Gaza in 2005 and acceded to the Oslo Accord with regards to Judea and Samaria. But Israel never had peace, the Arabs being what they are. In her own interest, Israel should now stand firm and strong and never give away land that is hers.

I hope the Palestinian leader, Marwan Barghouti, who has been in prison in Israel for 22 years, will be released. The Minister in charge of prisons, Itamar Ben G'vir, said in February this year that he had ordered Barghouti to be put in solitary confinement. I hope that particular form of torture is not still being applied to Marwan Barghouti. He is revered as a leader by Palestinians, similar to Nelson Mandela. He would be a uniting figure and would help Palestinian political unity which in turn could lead to a peaceful resolution to the current conflict. The Israeli PM, Netanyahu, on the other hand, wants never ending war, of course, as he thinks that will keep him in power and posdibly out of jail for corruption charges.
