There is no doubt who is responsible for this mess. Hezbollah never complied with the UN resolution requiring them to pull back from the border. They attacked Israel without provocation forcing them to endure a year of rocket fire and to evacuate their citizens. No one should be surprised that diplomacy hasn't worked, Hezbollah has no incentive to stop, especially as the U.S., as they did in Gaza, keeps warning Israel not to go on the offense, constantly doing so publicly no less. It's bizarre to say the least, totally ignorant at worst, as this is the only leverage they have to pressure the group to negotiate. Every democracy should stand squarely behind Israel in this fight.
